GDT: 2024-25 season game 40 LA Kings vs Calgary Flames @7:00pm 1/11/24

Fox ain't wrong, they looked tired in the 3rd. When was the last time you saw kopi miss on so many outlet passes? He's money making the easy pass. Juice was bad too.
Bro relax with the excuses. Kings killed the last back to back. And this time they had a millennium off.

Hillers bad coaching is catching up with him.

This loss isn’t on Hiller, despite some head scratchers.

The roster just didn’t perform tonight. Let’s not get too hasty on the sharp end of a back to back.

Adjustments are going to be necessary, but the world isn’t ending just yet.

I usually don’t put too much weight into the excuse of playing tired on a B2B but I don’t remember the Kings or any team looking that obviously gassed. Between the fires, the postponed game, the travel and playing a tough game last night…I’m going to just chalk this loss.

Yes there was.. 17SOG - and quite a few good scoring chances.. He stopped 31/32 - thats a good game. Not sure why nobody noticed.
Maybe you count grade A scoring chances differently than me but I only remember maybe 3 ish really good chances in the 1st. And I said nothing about Wolf, he played a strong game no doubt.

I dont know. Id run a 13/5 on a back to back - fwds skate way more than the D... and the scrubs we are using on D may as well not play.. way better rotating 5 D

I think there was a consensus on this board and during the tsn intermission panel betwen periods that the Kings shouldve been up a couple more goals. I felt it was the goalie that made the difference - maybe somre were thinking the Kings just didnt capitalize.

I think the Kings definitely dominated that period with possession, shots, and zone time but I didn't really see many missed clear cut chances where it felt like they should have been up by 2 or 3 goals. I definitely remeber the Fiala semi break but that's about it. Maybe there were some things I'm not remembering.

Id have to rewatch to remember the details - just had mentally jotted down Wolf was sharp. HIm being an LA kid and hearing he was having a good season was keeping tabs... but i just dont have details to pull from - maybe my short term memory is fading... anyway nice chat. have a good one Yoda

Per ‘Dancing Boy’. This is sick. And not the 21st century kind of sick. So much for Lewis being so important in the lineup.

Consider Kakko 2 goals, 3 pts game and 7 pts in 10 for SEA. I bet getting 1 of Krieder, Chytil, Trochek, Zbad, Panarin in that order…they would do well, getting out of there. The abysmal offense and PP needs a major jolt.

Fiala failing on so many levels. Handles puck like grenade and so many turnovers. I’d send him to NY or even send him back to Nash for even Marchessault?

Looking forward to DD back, but would love to see a legit top 6 acquired. Buf and Rags looking to deal.

allowing less than 2 goals per game since the 7-2 sharks loss....
The Kings could allow 2 goals against the rest of the way and get swept in round 1, if they can’t score.

Danault no longer provides offense, Moore needs an empty net (no longer battles on the boards) and Fiala is becoming a 50 pt forward and negatives outweigh him if is not a 75+ pt player.

11/7 is a joke with both Burroughs and Englund in the lineup. The PP is the worst one I’ve seen in years in entire league. I catch many games on nhl tv each week.

Your #1 point producer is 37 years old and looks it many nights. Byfield goes 20 games without goals.
Laferrierre has hit a rough patch. Foegele, usually effective, invisible tonight.

The Kings record better with Helenius than w Lewis.

That's the most infuriating part. Lewis doesn't help the team in any way. We're talking about staying fresh on a back to back when you have the most useless overhyped vet on the roster doing nothing besides taking a spot. How the hell do the Kings expect to stay fresh on the end of a back to back with the most useless plug on the team by far doing nothing. You can't count on him to score and you dont need him for defense. What's the f***ing point? Im so sick and tired of that old gas bag. He can f*** off for the love of god.

This is what I mean though. Hiller might do some things right but when it comes to the roster and 11/7 shit. The fact the Kings are doing well is a miracle because his set up is beyond brain dead.

1. Lewis is the 11th forward. Its essentially 10 forwards and you dont have a 4th line. You're going to burn down the reserves of the forwards incredibly quick when you are only rolling 10 players,

2. Burroughs and Englund... The most brain dead defenseman that are good for a goal against a game, Why are we rolling 7d exactly??

The Kings wins are not sustainable.

maybe it has to do with the fact they don't play offense anymore. Hard to be scored on when you abandon the offensive zone.

And this is exactly what will happen. Anyone climaxing over the Kings "defensive prowess" is on crack. Kings have shown time and time again that when the oilers roll in, the defense is absolutely destroyed. Kings biggest issue is the fact they cant play offense and then you add to the fact that the special teams are garbage. You have oilers in 4 in the playoffs.

Whatever bullshit the Kings have been pulling off is not sustainable. Hiller has been getting lucky but this shit will and has begun to catch up to him. 11/7 with these plugs taking spots is asking to burn the energy of the good forwards and start a collapse

ok

Can we request a schedule without road games in Calgary?

Six straight losses in that building, and all of them with one or two goals difference
