Kings need to sit Fiala down and tell him it's not working out. Time for a divorce. I'm sure he'd love to play in NYR.

It's time to get uncomfortable.

That cap hit can be better used elsewhere.
Is this in the realm of possibility? There are no rumblings and while the coach probably is frustrated it seems like hes well liked and a big part of the team. Hes looked great in about 3 games this year.
If they want to keep him they should trade for a guy that likes to have the puck to stick on his line and make Fiala change his game a little and stick him down low like Vilardi does where he can stickhandle in tight spaces rather than be in the cycle up high.

Probably not. But you never know.

He's been benched 3 times this season IIRC.

I don't get the impression Fiala is playing the game he wants to play.

Two teams have already tried it. The only way you can get something productive out of Fiala is to put him with pluggers who don't need or even want the puck on their stick for long.

Just look at where he sets himself up as an option to receive a pass. Its always at distance and it's almost always at highly dangerous areas of the ice for a turnover. I swear this analogy holds true: he is that guy in a pick up basketball game who always wants the ball at the top of the key that calls you to clear out, never uses the picks you set for him, and whose ball handling skills persuade you not to notice that he made an easy pass overly complicated for no.good effect.

He has mercurial talent, obviously works very hard at it, but his idea of the game doesn't mesh with many others. He risks making simple things looking like highlights.

All of this is magnified when he isn't producing, and right now that scale of whether his brand of juice being worth the squeeze is heavily tilted against him. If he just simplified his game to use his skill in a safer brand of hockey, he could really be something special. He just doesn't think that way.

Great game. Hiller won a close challenge to save the shutout. Not a fan of his earlier challenges. Hockey God's rewarded Byfield for the refs horrendous call. He's on a bit of a heater. Mikey can't buy an empty net goal. Jeannot was throwing a bunch of hits . The Twin Towers were playing well.

The Burroughs Breakdowns!
-Hiller is messing with us or under durres at this point. Jesse, please see if he needs help.
- Burroughs should have been player of the game. Logged almost 4 minutes & wasn't on the ice for a goal against.
- First shift he got off the ice without handing the other team a goal.
- Why are Burroughs and Fiala on the ice together ever?
- 2nd shift or so Burroughs fell in the Dzone allowing his guy to skate around wide open with the puck. Some people will argue it was an accident or he was tripped. Burroughs sure has a lot of accidents in his limited minutes.
- One of his later shifts the puck should have naturally swung to Burroughs, but the poor D stuck out there with him wasn't going to fall for that.
- Almost forgot, died laughing when Burroughs realized he was standing alone in the Dzone & started looking frantically for the guy he was supposed to be covering. Backed it up a couple times.

The problem is he's bad at defending, reading the play, keeping track of where his guy is, getting body contact. Then he's also bad at passing the puck out of danger. The King's system is supposed to make the D's life easier with forward support & Burroughs still can't pull it off. This just leads to extended zone time & more opportunities for screwups.

Now I've spent more time talking about the trauma of watching Burroughs play, than he spent playing.

On the play Foegele interrupted, Burroughs did go down to block a shot. Didn't want to be too negative about the guy.

good to see Byfield stepping up and becoming a factor. He’s had a bad year but these past 5 games he’s been a lot better. Consistency is what we all hope for regardless of how we view his ability. It does help his shot looks a lot better. The elusive wrist shot has been showing itself.

Hiller is some kind of matchup savant at home. His home record has to be insane since taking over.
Yep, it's best in the league.

Can you imagine some dude here was actually lobbying to fire Hillier just last week?!

What an awesome game this was.

There are several of these hardcore posters who pop up with any turnover at the blueline or when the Kings are losing.
the ultimate definition of trolls.

Hiller should absolutely be canned for his usage of Burroughs. Just unacceptable. With guys getting healthy, maybe Burroughs goes away. We'll have to wait & see on that.

It's a self inflicted, stupid problem. Fix the problem.

PP, 4v4, OT are horrendous. Hiller needs to get those sorted.

Regular season doesn't matter a whole lot. King's have a lot to sort out before the playoffs start. Hiller has some work to do.

Canned? No. Called out? Yes. Doughty is coming back anyways so hopefully that means Burroughs is long gone. If he somehow stays over Moverare then I'll really be questioning his judgement...

if he doesnt agree to a trade, sit him in the pressbox until he gets the idea. failing all that, ltir him with and equipment caused rash, a mark stone back injury or whatever. stan bowman gets away with it and so does the mythic uncle lou lamerillo. id be much happier watching fiala's comedy of errors on a team anywhere away from us. im sure he's a nice guy with a great family and all, but i think we can chalk kevin fiala up to just another misfit player acquisition by rob blake.
i hope for the best for kevin fiala away from the kings.

What a great idea, sit him in the pressbox until he caves to a trade! I mean that's the way to do it, imagine the message it would send to the rest of the team...it would really get these guys in line!

Man, I love Xbox.

Burroughs has been in 19 games so far this season. My tolerance for dumb decisions is really low right now & it's probably extreme to call for Hiller to be canned.

Burroughs continuing to get ice time is really calling into question Hiller's competency as a coach. Is it a lack of options or is this the tip of the iceberg of some larger problem.

Looked up his games played last year, Burroughs was a -42 & played 73 games @ 19.09 TOI for the Sharks last year. Sharks were tanking though.
