Danault, Spence, Byfield and Thomas have been horrible.

Why does Hiller keep playing Lee when he’s pissed at other players? Lee is the modern day John Tripp.
Hiller has crush on this Lee kid.. worse than Darryls on Dwight. Hopefully he goes away permanently when janot comes back.

The team is pretty shit and their place in the standings is much too flattering for their actual play. The funny thing is we want them to trade all these guys and you just know theyll go to another team and play much better than they do here.
Its like Clarke in the last 5 minutes was activated to pinch all of a sudden. How about you just let him go from puck drop and be the best player he can be and learn to pick his own spots to pinch. They neuter players individually yet at the same time arent playing a blue collar nothing fancy system to match it.

@Sol - you need to get onboard with this.. it will be unanimous. Youre the last holdout
I will whenever people get on board that Byfield has been throughly unimpressive as a 2nd overall pick player. People are bitching about Fiala when Byfield is still doing nothing for the most part and the rebuild was centered around him.

Trade Byfield while other GMs think he has value.

Everybody is going to attack you and call you crazy, and preach patience, but your point is 100% valid.

I do wonder if the Kings may have to have the same discussion with Byfield that they had with Vilardi. He's in his age 22 season, fifth year in the organization and he is playing 5 minutes less than Kopitar and Danault. Perhaps it's better to just staple him to Kopitar's wing, that's where he has looked his best.

I’m almost there. Now just say that Byfield being a passenger as a 2nd overall pick player is worse than Fiala being a moron. This rebuild was entirely built on the back of Byfield and he hasn’t done shit to date that is worthy of the spot we drafted him at. No one can tell me I’m wrong

Im not ready to say that yet..im close - logic is I still think Byfield could take another step, while I dont think Fiala can. Fiala this season is defintely a player a smart GM would move. He has plenty of highlight reel moves and goals.. you could get plenty for him esp at the deadline.

Byfield is still on training wheels and he’s how old? He’s nothing short of a disappointment when you consider where he’s drafted and what the expectations for such a high pick are. And what he means for this organization.

I’m going to compare the player I think Byfield fits the mold of based around his draft report.

Tall, Fast, Good shot. Had been considered the best shot behind drysdale in the whole draft.

Tall fast player with a great shot? Jeff Carter.

Look at what Carter was doing around the same time in his career.

We would be lucky if Byfield ends up being anything close to Jeff Carter.

That’s our franchise pick. A poor mans Jeff Carter. That’s the real reason why this organization is f***ed.

The morons shouldve developed him at center. Im sure thats part of the problem is he didnt get his reps at center and now he's at center learning it at the NHL level. Look what they did to Kempe - He's a natural wing and they made him play center for 2 seasons and he sucked ass.. when he finally got back to wing, he started to produce. But for a 2OA I expect more - Kempe being a late 1st. But Im just saying how you are developed can make a big difference. Re his shot: its f***ing terrible... Its Trevor Lewis bad right now for whatever reason.

That’s why I can’t really get behind the bitching of Fiala. We traded away Vilardi when he broke out and was easily to everyone the most talented draftee. Then we have Byfield who can’t really do anything impressive just yet besides a couple shifts maybe once or twice a week. That’s a far cry from what we need from him. kings traded Vilardi, Kings are riding Kopitar, Byfield isn’t even a star at this point in his career, why on earth do we really give a f*** about Fiala? Sure maybe the trade was the wrong timing but as far as I am aware we were tanking for the likes of Byfield Clarke and Turcotte. None of these players are anywhere close to who Kopitar and Doughty were at their age. Vilardi was the best and we traded him man. Why the f*** do we truly give a f*** about Fiala? I feel like anyone who bitches about him has lost the plot entirely. We were tanking for these guys and none of them play an important role at this point.

All the stuff you mentioned deserves and gets plenty of bitching (after all thats what we're good at here) I just humorously "called you out" to see if we could get a unamimous Fiala is total dogshit consensus.. Because even myself up until the start of this season wasnt there yet... and now I so done with that guy.

I think as a whole we should stop focusing on players because at the end of the day the organization drafted nobodies and the team is filled with nobodies. I only hope we fail because the players at the end of the day are all movable with a good GM.

I.E.
Figured this one would be ugly, 7 games in 12 days finishing at mile high is f***ed up regardless of how I feel about the team, not surprised they had no oxygen in their brains.

Now for 3 games in 10 days at home vs. non-playoff teams.

Byfield is a disappointment in that he's not dominated a game this season.

Fiala has flat out killed the team's momentum and turned the game around in the opposition's favor multiple times.
You missed the main points about him. He’s a disappointment that he’s not a star yet. He’s a disappointment that for being drafted so high that he struggles heavily with confidence.

Overall he’s a disappointment to the point that he himself is not anywhere near good enough to build around. The Kings are going to have to rebuild again and it’s undeniable. The one player that actually was already a star and they traded him was Vilardi.

I know this board has a tendency to celebrate any positive thing he does because it actually feels good to not feel like shit about the team but I feel like many posters are out of touch with reality as to what his ceiling is. If it was high, you’d know it by now, the fact we even have to constantly talk about the fact that Byfield STILL hasn’t put it together should tell you how much closer his ceiling is to the floor.
