We were right there
Bolden already clears just by not insulting fans
It’s a low bar the org has set but here we are

Not bloody likely eh?He can always scor 40 a year for his next contract and demand 7.8
Bolden hasn't really grown on me yet but she seems to perk up when Lee,Thomas and QB do something decentI actually think Blake Bolden is less polished as a broadcaster understandably but her analysis is far better than Carrlyn Bathe who offers zero insight and a “yas queening” personality. I’d easily take Blake Bolden.
This severely undercuts her qualifications. Is this the same Blake Bolden that Luc hired out of the crowd to be a scout?
I see that job must have gone well if she's part of the Kings broadcast team now.
what’s the point of even saying this? Not bloody likely eh?

Nothing in that bio gives off qualifications as a pro scout. In fact this broadcast role seems a much much better fit for her going off that bio.
What about her international and professional hockey player experience makes her a better fit as a broadcaster than a scout?Nothing in that bio gives off qualifications as a pro scout. In fact this broadcast role seems a much much better fit for her going off that bio.

The thread will probably (and thankfully) die with a new GDT. But the masks coming off isn't surprising.Uh oh… I smell politics. Mods do yo thing
Maybe some of her compatroit girls hockey players will join the KingsIs this the same Blake Bolden that Luc hired out of the crowd to be a scout?

Just an observationwhat’s the point of even saying this?
The part where she is "dabbling in sports broadcasting" as part of her mission of being seen? What about her international and professional hockey player experience makes her a better fit as a broadcaster than a scout?
I wish some of you could see this girl play hockey. She's a beast.Nothing in that bio gives off qualifications as a pro scout. In fact this broadcast role seems a much much better fit for her going off that bio.
You mentioned Blake picked her out of a crowd to be a pro scout, which seemed to diminish her past history. I gave a source of her qualifications and experience, and you said nothing in her bio shows qualifications of a pro scout. That broadcasting is a better fit. Here's your quote. The part where she is "dabbling in sports broadcasting" as part of her mission of being seen?
But sure, go ahead and try to make this more than an honest question if it was the same person or not because I haven't watched a Kings game in a month.
Also don't lump me in with RMT because that's just gross.
This is directly from the link I gave you:Nothing in that bio gives off qualifications as a pro scout. In fact this broadcast role seems a much much better fit for her going off that bio.
Bolden started at a young age where she played minor youth hockey for the Cleveland Barons and the Ohio Flames. She later went to Northwood School in Lake Placid, NY while also participating in the first U18 World Championship for team USA, winning Gold in both 2008 & 2009 tournaments. Blake then went to Boston College, captaining her senior year, with 3 Frozen Four appearances, earning Hockey East Defensive Player of the Year and All American Honors.
After graduating, she joined the Boston Blades of the CWHL (Canadian Women’s Hockey League), winning the Clarkson cup in 2015. In 2016, she played for the Boston Pride of the NWHL (National Women’s Hockey League) winning the inaugural Isobel Cup.
After two seasons and two All-Star appearances in the NWHL, she recorded 27 points in 20 games with HC Lugano in Switzerland in 2018.
She then returned to the NWHL, playing for the Buffalo Beauts. Representing the Beauts, she reclaimed her hardest shot title in the 2019 NWHL All-Star Skills Competition and was awarded Defensive Player of the Year. Dawned the Jackie Robinson of Women’s hockey, she is the first Black player drafted in the first round of the CWHL and the first ever to compete in the NWHL.
This is the last I'm going to say about this because frankly it's (specifically you) is pissing me off.You mentioned Blake picked her out of a crowd to be a pro scout, which seemed to diminish her past history. I gave a source of her qualifications and experience, and you said nothing in her bio shows qualifications of a pro scout. That broadcasting is a better fit. Here's your quote.

She's played collegiate, professional, and international hockey, winning gold and individual honors, all-star appearances and championships.
So, I'm genuinely asking what about that CV makes her a better fit for broadcasting. I understand she is trying to grow a community outreach so she's certainly dabbling in broadcasting to further that goal.
And no, I wasn't lumping you with RMT. But I'm curious why she doesn't have qualifications to be a scout, or more specifically, how someone can respond and think she's a DEI hire.
It’s in her title with the team calm downUh oh… I smell politics. Mods do yo thing

two things can be true at once.
also im in process of evaluating and processing my opinions about blake bolden and after the tremendous amount of research and effort i put into each post on this board, i will alert users to the outlines of my opinions and theory's regarding them.
I wish some of you could see this girl play hockey. She's a beast.
My apoligies for the misunderstanding. I don't recall the story of Blake just picking her out of a crowd and so I thought you were making a snarky comment on her qualifications. Which is why I asked why her experience made her a better fit for broadcasting - she has as much experience broadcasting as being a scout. This is the last I'm going to say about this because frankly it's (specifically you) is pissing me off.
Read what I said again.
I never said she was a DEI hire, never even implied it. The fact you think I did is probably part of this issue here, and honestly that's all on you, and why your politics are starting to show.
I asked if it was the same person, and made a snarky comment about her hire because of the weird circumstances of it. My comment was aimed as a dig at Luc and had nothing to due with her as a person.
It's a comment I now regret making because here I am having to defend myself while you make sweeping assumptions.
The rumor is that Luc saw her at a Kings game and then approached her with a job offer as a scout, which just seems strange and unconventional. Not because she's a women, not because she's black. It just seems an odd way to hire anybody.
As for her qualifications, what does playing hockey at a high level have to do with being a good scout? How much did playing experience help Dean Lombardi as an executive? How much did playing at a high level help Wayne Gretzky as a coach? How much did experience playing hockey help Hakan Andersson be arguably the greatest scout ever? Heck how much has time playing hockey at a high level helped Blake?
That's what I meant, full stop. She has her hands in enough pies being an advocate and being a role model, to the point where it seems like she wouldn't have time to be a scout and that’s fine. She's doing more important work elsewhere.
Water under the bridge friend. I get how the misunderstanding happened and apoligize for not being clearer in what I meant. My apoligies for the misunderstanding. I don't recall the story of Blake just picking her out of a crowd and so I thought you were making a snarky comment on her qualifications. Which is why I asked why her experience made her a better fit for broadcasting - she has as much experience broadcasting as being a scout.
Regarding Lombardi, he had a law degree, which gave him more of an inside look at evaluating things from an executive standpoint. He also had familial connections to Bob Pulford. Gretzky sucked as a coach, but his experience earned him a chance. Blake got an assistant job for many years before getting a GM. I dislike him, but nobody can say he hasn't earned a shot.
And my point is that Bolden has earned hers. And that she's much more than someone Rob Blake picked out of a group.
