I think I heard Stamkos' name once all night on the play by play. Honestly, Doughty had a bigger impact on this game than he did. (By getting Clarke more minutes)
Stamkos has been very quiet, as has the Preds scoring goals even strength. From the outside looking in, I'm not sure Andrew Brunette is the right coach. He's not getting the offense production from this roster like he was when coaching the Florida Panthers. Even though Trotz is their GM now, somehow I feel his philosophy is not quite in sync with how Brunette coaches the roster?

Lotta guys involved tonight.

Kempe 1g 1a
Kopitar 1g
Fiala 1g
Lewis 1a
Clarke 1a
Moore 1a
Danault 1a
Gavrikov 1a
Did Lewis trip and fall again and some how get an assist on the empty netter?

I am a fan of the Preds AHL affiliate (Milwaukee Admirals) and Bridgestone Arena is one of the best places in the league to see a game, and their fans are great. But man, that team is so poorly constructed, and are a couple of years further along the black hole path than the Kings are.

Nashville has made the playoffs consistently, but just get exposed by better constructed rosters (sound familiar?), and their inability to draft and develop their own top line players has forced them to bring in players from outside the organization to compliment their aging stars Josi and Forsberg (sound familiar)

I'm sure they will come out of this and finish around a wildcard team again, but this team is just nowhere close to contending, and haven't been for 6-7 years.

Nashville sucks right now.

Also, the Kings have played the easiest schedule in the NHL.

LA's one win against a "good" team came against a VGK team that's been terrible on the road (0-3-1)

"He's gonna be alright. I'm not sure when he'll be able to get back in, but he's fine"

Thats some orwellian level communication... he's not fine if you dont know when he will be able to get back in... maybe you mean he's not in the ER or ICU? Sure OK thats a positive.

The thing is they played well last night. They won some games this year where we said it doesnt matter they won because their play is concerning.
When they win and play a good solid game Ill take it. Its enjoyable to watch.

I don't know if they played well, I would classify it as they played well enough to win?

It seems they are lacking focus, there seems to be a laissez faire when they hit the ice, they react to the play instead of driving the play, the first few games, win or lose, they were driving the play, driving the net, going for rebounds, going into dirty areas, and now.....they arent

It's alright, just keep getting W's and points. Not playing the best but still getting some positive results isn't a bad thing at this stage of the season. You have 1/2 the team not producing and still getting by the teams we think they should win. There's time for them to put it all together, though I'm not confident that this roster is a close to being a cup team.

yeah def not MAD about that one--they did what they were supposed to do to a reeling team. that's a good response to the foot-off-the-pedal vs. Chi and SJS.

A lot of it is quality of comp but considering the million miles away from home to start the season and no Drew this is a solid record no matter how they got there. Obviously helps that the Pacific sucks.

As others have mentioned there are some troubling starts on the team and we're approaching 20% thru the season so you don't get the benefit of the doubt anymore....Byfield, Moore REALLY need to wake up. Fiala has responded well since the benching and Danault is coming around. Hopefully Turcotte is healthy. Jeanotte is just f***in Kelly Buchberger though. I wish for once we could get toughness that can actually play or, if they can't play, can at least win a fight. Jeanotte is neither, just an absolutely worthless player so far. That's going to be hard to work around since all the toughness on D is terrible too.
