I got attacked on Lakingsinsider for mentioning what im about to say but I will stick to my guns . I been saying it since the 2020 draft and i will say it again i was preaching and praying we took Stutzle because he reminded me of Patty Kane man do i wish we took him. He had another 4 point game tonight and is a lock for 90-100 points year in and year out
I think I know what you are saying. Stutzle is a pure offense player, while Byfield is that 2-way center mold that the Kings model their potential star centers after Kopitar. It was a mistake having Byfield play in the NHL at age 18. Byfield can still be a good 1C, but he just wasn't a phenom like a Crosby/Ovechkin that could play right away in the NHL. It hasn't helped at all that TMac/Hiller have been Byfield's coaches.

What I find very puzzling from a team perspective, is the fact you have a good deal of offense first young players, but they are being handcuffed by a system that doesn't promote offense(which more teams are adopting as goal scoring is up again this season). Frankly, Hiller is not head coach material. I feel he's less personable with the players, than TMac was(or maybe they are the same?). IMO, I feel the Kings need a coach that can get more offensive production from it's players. To me the players are not buying into what Hiller is trying to preach(I'm not even sure what Hiller is even trying to preach!) PLD tuned out TMac/Hiller. I do agree it was wrong how PLD had a bit of an attitude. It appears Fiala might be showing some similar bad attitude. Something could be rotten in the organization where it's starting to infest into other players not being happy how the team is being run. A firing/trade needs to happen soon before there is some kind of collapse with this team.

classic trap game. The only way it could've been worse is if it was SJ first win of the year. 0-6 on the pp, really?
When you pass too much with players being a bit static/predictable, then no shots are generated. The passes/movement needs to be quicker, and there needs to be more risk taken getting shots towards the net. When PP is mostly stale/stalled, sometimes you have to keep it simple and go back to the basics, shoot, create traffic and go for rebounds!

Do they? The defense and goaltending are abysmal. Reminds of an expansion team from the 1990's.

No #1 center, no #1 Dman, no #1 goaltender.
They have a 1C(Byfield), but they are not even playing him at that position. I think most other teams without a doubt would be playing Byfield as a 1C.

Our #1 d-men is injured and out for another 3 months(correct me if I'm wrong on time length). The way I look at it, the Kings never addressed the hole left by Roy. It looks worse with Doughty out.

Last, we have a #1 goalie in Kuemper till Portillo is fully ready to take over the #1 job.

That might just be the worst thing that happened to him. 2 goals in his last 28 games to end the season after that goal, and zero goals in 5 games in the playoffs. None so far this season. That's 2 goals in his last 43 games including this season and last year's playoffs. Not even sure what the hell is going on with him. Had a big hat trick in the preseason game and now is a ghost again. Just a brutal stretch.
Damn! I knew it was bad but 2 in 43 is abysmal.

You just know that they’re going to sit Thomas and whip the Knights tomorrow because..Kongs.

Gotta follow up a performance like this with a win against a good team that reassures BLuc that their contender facade is intact. We are in the worst timeline.

Fiala was scratched? Missing a team meeting? I’m not like a lot of you guys who throb relentlessly over random men for no rhyme or reason. That’s bad on Fiala and if he’s becoming a problem in the room then he’s gotta go.

Missed the game thankfully. Got a new car instead.

An issue I see with 55 is that he's playing with the wrong guys. He needs to play with pace and that is opposite of how 11 plays. Put him at 2nd C and let him go.
11 has had 1 and 1/2 good games this season and 9 looks like hot garbage. Stick Lewis on their wing until he gets his 1,000. Keep the ehh together.

I fear that BLuc will move Laf or Spence or some other youth to appease 11 and keep the cup dreams alive.

BLuc has got to go

Are we just making shit up about Kopi at this point? When in his entire f***ing career has he ever been a diva who needed to be appeased?

Bunch of f***ing p***yes, just rolling over. Absolutely pathetic.
This is what pisses me off. I thought that was supposed to change this year. We brought in some guys that are supposed to be tough and throw the body, but that seems to have gone away after the first few games. Wonder if the culture of pacifism is too great to overcome.

This is absolutely how this season is going to go. There's at least one more Sopel and Parrish type deal happening before the season ends...

Looks at who the leadership of the team still is. That checks out.

The team has a coach who should not have been hired in the first place!

Diva? Absolutely not.

Using influence to prematurely end a rebuild? Absolutely.

And that isn't a sin. Dude wanted his cake and to eat it too, and you cannot blame an athlete for wanting to maximize their career. That's why you need executives with longterm vision who can read and react when necessary and make difficult decisions.

The truth of the matter is that the last ten years have all been cemented in because they chose to re-sign a player to a massive deal that was against the clubs best interest. The cost of the Cup years was too high to retool, when it was done, it was done hard. The only way out was a rebuild and you cannot accomplish that thru sentimentality and locking in a mediocrity ceiling for a decade.

I don't feel bad for players who sign longterm retirement deals then get stuck in rebuilding situations. It's all part of the game, very, very few teams have a decade-long cycle of success and you have to be willing to accept that in exchange for wealth and security.

Coach that shouldn’t have been hired,
Players that should not have been traded, executives that shouldn’t never have been brought in,Lots of players that shouldn’t have been signed.

This is a complete dereliction of duty from Beckerman and things are completely f***ed!
