Hopefully Sidorov gets a look at some point. He's probably the only forward prospect i'm excited about outside Sennecke.

Agozzino makes it 2-0, Carpenter has the puck without pressure on the wall, and plays a 5 foot pass to the middle of the ice, straight to Agozzino who rips it home.
Dunno how he has managed nearly 400 NHL games in his career based on how he's played for the Gulls this season.

But the only way to speed up our rebuild is to hit on some 2nd rounders and later. Especially offensively….. Sidorov / gaucher / Terrance / Pitre / pasta / Colangelo / nesty / regenda / Myatovic / pettersson / Masse / pro————syllables / burnevik / blais
If 2-3 of those guys can hit and be middle 6 depth scoring players. And replace the strome / Killorn / McGinn / Johnston / harkins of the world, it would be real real good, or even if they pop and we get a top end player thru a trade.
Obviously z / Leo / Sennecke / mct / cutter all ideally reach their potential as well, but we are a better team if Mct is on the third line and putting up points with a Sidorov, than if all those guys make our top 6.

Been with Gaucher and Caufield all season, and has been the only line that even when not scoring has looked dangerous for most of the season.

Gulls down 2-0 after 1. Have actually outshot the Roadrunners but feels like it's been more quantity of quality. Only really good chance fell to Caufield after a great forecheck from Gaucher and hit on the defenceman behind the net, Sidorov strips the puck and sets up Caufield in the slot, unfortunately shot went wide.
Gulls have had some brutal defensive turnovers, but not really a surprise when you have two pairings of stay home defencemen with limited puck skills.

Even if he had a bust up on the bench, kind of insane by this coaching staff to keep scratching him for a month afterwards.
Really disappointing as he was showing some really nice flashes at the AHL level, arguably looked better then Luneau has at the AHL level...

Regenda shot gets deflected to the corner, Hinds flips it to the blueline, Mysak one times it which get deflected to Pastujov on front of the net who rips the backhand home. Pastujov's 4th of the season.
Mysak has managed 5 shots on goal and we are 3 minutes into the 2nd period, all have come within about two feet of the goal too.

Score on a 3 on 1 after Gulls over extend in the offensive zone. Heatherington pinches to try and keep the puck in, zero support from forwards and Roadrunners go tic tac toe to tap it in. No chance for Clang.

Colangelo joined Sidorov and Gaucher for the shift prior to the goal, hopefully just a slow line change as it would be a head scratcher to change up the only 2 forward lines that have been worth a damn in this game.
EDIT: Looks like it was a slow line change, Colangelo back out with Mysak and Pastujov next shift.

Don't think they've played a bad game to be honest, especially in the second period they've carried the play and generated good chances but they've completely shot themselves in the foot either with dumb mistakes (Carpenter giveway, Heatherington pinch) or bad goaltending (Clang x2) which have resulted in the goals.
2nd and 3rd lines easily the best on the ice.
That being said, Heatherington-McKeown has been brutal as a pairing -3 on the day so far. Feel bad for Heatherington though, first game back in 6 weeks and is thrown straight into the top pairing as Luneau comes out of the line up due to being ill, resulting in Hinds and Warren both babysitting fringe AHL defencemen on their pairings.

You can see that Pitre has some nice hands, and his skating is very good both in terms of speed but also edgework. But as I've said previously, he's not close to being physically ready for this level, which really detracts from his game as that physical engagement was how he had success at Junior level.
Whenever he can avoid contact he looks good, but very easy to defend soon as there is contact.
If Pitre can go away and add about 7-10kg to his frame (big ask but that's what's required), I can see him being a real good part of the Gulls next season.
Just have no idea why a GM who preaches about wanting to overippen prospects has the likes of Pitre and Myatovic with the Gulls this season. It's not like you can say they are 'needed' in the AHL like some of our prospects at the NHL level.

5-1 Roadrunners who score into an empty netter. Been a pretty eh final period, whole lot of nothing has been happening.
Dansk came in for Clang and saved 7/7 so far.

Anaheim has had two defensemen with incidences that have caused them to miss some games in Solberg in the SHL and Dionicio in the AHL. At least with Solberg, the dialogue between him and coaches were good as well as being on the same path of proper development. We have seen Solberg's time-on-ice increase since being benched. With Dionicio, I have no idea what is going on besides what little reporting such as from Defend the Nest or us here on this board. I did notice that he hasn't played when I did the 2-week prospect update productions, but nothing more than that. It's all hush-hush that Dionicio has been healthy scratched for nine consecutive games.

I agree on rushing the junior prospects. Very relieved that Terrance isn't eligible for the AHL this season or Verbeek would have brought him over too. Every 2023 Ducks forward prospects save Terrance is in the AHL. Pitre didn't have a great last season in juniors. Myatovic missed half the season due to injury. I could see more of a reason to keep Myatovic in juniors for one more season.
Putting my Verbeek thinking cap as to why Verbeek rushed the youths to the AHL is Verbeek believing he can improve their physical growth better in San Diego than in juniors. The org believe they can monitor their workouts and eating habits or at least do it better in the AHL than in juniors. Verbeek is willing to bet on that aspect by losing a year off of their ELC. This is akin to Carlsson's and Luneau's load mgmt last season in the NHL, the purpose was to bulk their bodies up. To me, that's the only reason to bring them up this season to the AHL in hopes to hastening their development by a year. Like you mentioned about if Pitre can put on the weight, then he could be real good next season with the Gulls.
