Stills feels like there will be some changes coming to the lines
They want to force Zegras into a defensive winger so bad they'd rather put Lundestrom as 2c. Dumb

On the flip side, Lundestrom might be the best skating forward we have. The guy absolutely flies. His problem is that he never knows what to do with the puck once he's in the zone. It might actually work to pair him with Zegras, a guy who always wants to do something. They want to force Zegras into a defensive winger so bad they'd rather put Lundestrom as 2c. Dumb
Kind of was hoping they'd flip them and put Z at center (might still play center of the ice in the offensive zone?) but Lundestrom seems like a good 3rd wheel in theory. He's been on lines that worked, he plays defense, and can skate. Hopefully his offense comes alive and he settles in as a good 3rd line forward. Maybe Z makes him look good?On the flip side, Lundestrom might be the best skating forward we have. The guy absolutely flies. They obviously don’t trust Zegras defensively at center. I think you are correct even though I prefer Z in the middle.Or it could be that Lundy takes on most of the defensive responsibilities at center so Z can be more free. Plus, Z is back as LW. I don't mind this experiment right now.
I feel like this happens every time they put him at wing. Same thing happened at the beginning of last year and in his first partial season. The guy needs to be at center. Imo.I’m more worried about Zegras than some here. He just seems like he hasn’t improved much since he was 21. He’s a little better defensively and a little less effective offensively.
Whether that’s a coaching or him problem, I’m not sure. But it’s a bit concerning that we have a guy who’s supposed to be entering his prime that hasn’t really gotten much better.
It’s easier for me to look the other way with McTavish at this point who is almost 2 years younger
I’m not giving up on Z (I really like him and want him to succeed here badly) but some progression has to happen at some point this season or else I think he’ll be trade bait for a defenseman
It's amazing how the PP helps production. We should have another 2-3 goals if it was working better from Game 1. Would maybe have a few guys at a PPG now.
Yes, with the struggling PP, they cannot afford to slack on the ES production. This is why some games they only score 1 goal, or worse, get shut out.Terry going 1v4 on the PP helped rejuvenate our play from the 2nd period onward in the game. The scary part is our goals scored in the game were on the PP and an EN, nothing at ES against the lowly Sharks. We're going to need our PP to produce if our ES/5v5 offense cannot this season.

Zegras shot was never “ lethal” I wish it was, but it’s never been.Interesting that in a game where we gave up multiple 2-on-1s, Z, a defensively irresponsible winger, was the one effectively backchecking.
He could have (or should have) had multiple points. That's on him (and his linemates), but please, give him something to work with on the PP. Hopefully Vatrano finds his groove soon.
My only real concern is his shot. It used to be lethal—picking corners from in close, one-timers, etc.
Maybe not lethal, but I do remember when he could fire one timers from the faceoff circles (quick enough to beat a goalie) on PPs. Where the hell did that go?Zegras shot was never “ lethal” I wish it was, but it’s never been.

Can't say I recall seeing it in quite a while. It’s still there.
Why are the Ducks carrying two extra d-men? Get Zells to the Gulls asap.
At the end of last game, the team turned to Fabbri to take some critical draws with the goalie pulled, and he went 4-for-4. That could be something to keep an eye on.

This will fully happen soon I’m sure. Cronin has to do anything possible to win so he doesn’t lose his job.Cronin did the same later in the game in yesterday's tilt with the Rangers. Problem is, Cronin is set on developing Carlsson's FO skills to the team's detriment. It's apparent that Carlsson doesn't possess the speed or strength to win FO's regularly as a 19-year old. Just do what we did with Z at FO's by letting Rico take the FO's.
