2024 25 Roster Thread 3 the Nations and after

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

Ersson with one of the worst seasons by a goalie in recent years by their expected goals model.

I think it was @VladDrag who pointed it out, but there is something odd about the Flyers exGA this season. Torts' system suppresses shots, but not chances. I'm not entirely sure this is reflected in the models that are saying Ersson has been this bad.

Which isn't to say he hasn't been bad, just I don't think he's been as bad as the numbers say he has.

if he is being traded..our offer will be easily beatable as we have such a piss poor farm system

Something like Edmonton's 1st + a prospect like Bump could be of interest to Minnesota. They are looking to get bigger up front apparently.

I do get the sense Rossi would get the Frost treatment here though as an undersized center.

Interestingly, Minny was one of the places I thought might try to sign York at a 2nd round offer sheet level. (The list in my head is "who has enough cap space to put a 2nd round level offer out there, a potential hole on D, and whose 2 isn't in the 30s", which basically is Minny, NYR, Detroit, and Vegas.) Maybe we add York's RFA rights to an offer for Rossi?

Minnesota has no need for D. They have Brock Faber, Jonas Brodin, Jared Spurgeon, Jacob Middleton, David Jiriceck who they traded a 1st round pick for, and Top D prospect whose very much like Brock Faber in Zeev Buium. They are going to trade Rossi in a package for another top C if they don't work out long term contract

There's a reason why Tortorella requires a HOF goalie to be a threat, and there's also a reason why despite the Tortshell and heavy emphasis on defense, those HOF goalies still get tested really hard.

Can someone TLDR about York? I saw the healthy scratch thing despite having only 6 defensemen... Has he been so bad? Has he pooped in the coach room? What is happening?
He was "scratched" for disciplinary reasons (verbal altercation with Torts), but since they had no extra healthy defenseman and already used all their post-trade deadline recalls, York had to dress and sit on the bench like a plebeian.

Will he stay next season? Should he? Just trying to understand the implications here and how good (bad?) he has been lately.

Tough to say without knowing the whole story, but I wouldn't blame him if he asks out. If that was the price to pay to get Torts canned, then so be it. Someone who has watched the games recently will have to chime in on his recent play. I've been pretty much checked out lately.

me too.. to add further insult he was made to sit in full uniform AND no stick..

like a kindergarden kid.. surprized they didnt make him sit facing backwards
