To be fair, I feel that way about approximately 95% of the cities in the NHL, Philly included.

I wouldn't say he's accomplished nothing - it might not be things you like, but he has done 'stuff'.

To your point, though... what has he accomplished?
a - moving out players he didn't think fit what the team is trying to build
b - picking up assets by using cap space
c - eventually trying to free up cap space

He's done a lot in less than 2 years, actually... though I'm not sure it's all part of a coherent strategy. And he has definitely sold low on a number of assets and gotten little in return. Also did not extract value from swapping 1sts with Edmonton.

You might say he has a bias for action lol.

From Analyzing Flyers GM Daniel Briere’s 14 trades — stockpiling assets, taking chances

Acquired: 2024 sixth-round pick

I could clarify I suppose.

What has he done to significantly raise the talent level of the team?

Other than Michkov, I can’t say anything. Hes sat on his ass, and happily waddled up draft 10th, and seems prepped to do it again.

Rebuilding buys a GM grace, buys them time - but moving out a few guys that they don’t see as a fit (or they ask out as was the case of Prov) - and doing little else is problematic.

Again, say Briere misses the dance again next season. That’s 3 seasons where he’s asked for patience, but accomplished what exactly to bring in high end talent?

The way it looks to me, is he’s hoping free agency or a trade will save the day. He’s running out of time. He’s wasted his tenure so far - as I see it.

Yep, we should be in the middle of the "stockpile elite young talent" phase but because they are trying to do a rebuild while "building culture via Torts," they haven't been able to draft high enough to stockpile any elite young talent other than Michkov who they lucked into at 7, and are well on their way to ruining.

It’s been said that if a GM misses on one first round pick that it’s no big deal; any one can miss on a player. However if it happens twice, that’s not good. Three times and they deserve to be fired. IMO, Cutter is a miss in that he no longer a Flyer; Luchanko is TBD but a meh at best. Miss with this year’s selection and it’s time to move on. The upcoming draft is a make or break event for DB and his FO.

They definitely have a negative bias toward elite young talent.

Even if they didn’t find a way into the bottom 5 or whatever.

You’ve had guys available that could have fit a window. Sergachev, and Askarov as the names that stick out in my head.

He’s actually lost the overall amount of possible high end talent they have. For some reason the Flyers beats never mention the name Drysdale, but a carton of eggs in return for Gauthier would have been better at this point.

I eagerly await the moment the patience runs out for the diehards. They have a lot of negative qualities they cement into this organization as a portion of the fanbase, but that impatience will be a blessing soon enough.

While this draft isn't a good draft by any stretch, if he can somehow luck his way into someone elite this draft, the Flyers can be "ok"

Misa, Michkov, Luchanko, Bonk, Zav in the last 3 drafts would be pretty darn good. However, i'm certain we'll be stuck with McQueen or O'brian, and be told that everything is fine.

They have 7 picks in the first two rounds and I wouldn't be surprised if Canes, Caps or even the Blue Jackets end up better

This is an awful draft. I honestly think that after around Mrtka is drafted, its gonna plummet. This is the worst draft to have 7 picks in.

But if we somehow walk out with Misa/Hagens, Mrtka/Fidler and Ryabkin/Gastrin? I'll be over the moon.

However, under the moon is the Flyers way

Michkov got most of his

PP points off RHB.

5/6 PP goals this year? From the right. (other walking off righ)

Has been neutered recently with move to playing mostly LHB.

0 PP points in last 10 games.
2 PP points in last 24 games.

Absolutely ridiculous really. #Flyers

The Flyers are licking their chops for the 25 draft. They have a chance to load up on all the culture they can get.

It's almost like they don't want players to succeed and the ones that do do so in spite of the org

Remember when the Flyers were trying to get as many top end picks in this draft because they thought it was good 🤣🤣

This can change, obviously, but the Canes, who typically load up on darts and have a smart drafting philosophy only have five picks in this draft right now, and the Flyers have about 52. Beyond the eligible players themselves, I don't view that as a good indicator for this year's class.

Matvei will be just the next sacrificial lamb.

As was Giroux, Coots, Ghost, as will be Konecny, etc etc.
