The Coen brothers knew that.Kenny Rogers got his start playing in a psychedelic 60s rock band. I kid you not.

I think you're over-simplifying the situation. In matters like these, best to consult the oracle.Don't be so quick to judge Carson Briere after watching a clear video of him being a total POS and pushing a disabled person's wheelchair down a flight of steps, because the person who uploaded the video has an alcoholic beverage in their hand in their profile picture so that person's credibility is highly suspect.
What was the trade thread all about "bad/decent" prospects? Some leafs fan I think it was.We should be thrilled if Giroux turns into Scott Gomez - Jester vs. Chris Schaeffer (probably spelled that wrong)
Is Tye McGinn the sniper we need?
Box car right? Lol whatever happened to him??What was the trade thread all about "bad/decent" prospects? Some leafs fan I think it was.
Any discussion with Brandon Manning's stan was always a hoot

I admit I was hoping Patrick could be an Eric Staal type. Not even close. Completely different levels of competitiveness, for one of many reasons.I thought it was Eric staal? Lol

This one gets it.(Pop) country sucks, listen to bluegrass instead.
Manning was a 7th D-man who had his moment in the sun before his wings burned off.
Especially weird Bluegrass
(Pop) country sucks, listen to bluegrass instead.
Meh, a lot of bluegrass leaves me cold, technical proficiency without soul, similar to a lot of Jazz musicians and rock guitarists.(Pop) country sucks, listen to bluegrass instead.
Moment!? It was 207 games!!
If you recognize the show this track was the opening/closing credits for, we can be friends.

Until recently.Without saying the name -- it was on PBS, yes?
Until recently.
Looks like 2017 was the last season.Ahhh. I thought they killed all of those shows in the early 200Xs.
You dislike bluegrass AND Jazz?! You're like the polar opposite of who I am in every aspect of life.Meh, a lot of bluegrass leaves me cold, technical proficiency without soul, similar to a lot of Jazz musicians and rock guitarists.
The best country, like the best rock 'n' roll, is Scots-Irish "blues."
That is, songs that cut to the quick, sung by a singer who makes you feel they live the song and not merely perform it, and musicians who understand the heart of the song and don't need to break the spell by demanding attention.
This is why so many covers of great songs fall short, you can have perfect chops yet miss the mark.
Some great songs that are hard to cover:
Angel From Montgomery
Bird on a Wire
Pancho and Lefty
Oh dear. My brain deleted these memories in the name of self-preservation.
The best thread title ever:
Hello everyone. It’s nice to drop back in after five years or so. The old timers will remember me posting off and on from roughly 2015-2018 mainly regarding the unfairly maligned Brandon Manning. He was not the best player, but he was a true team guy who still has one of the best open ice hits ever against hated Tom Wilson in the 2016 playoffs.
I believe Mandog is retired and living in the Great White North somewhere. Let’s raise a glass to #23…a true Flyer.
And no, I was never Brandon Manning. I’m just Alan from Virginia.

That's not what I meant, rather, that too often bluegrass and jazz musicians put proficiency before "soul."You dislike bluegrass AND Jazz?! You're like the polar opposite of who I am in every aspect of life.
If you think jazz and bluegrass lack soul, then you need to listen to better jazz and bluegrass music. Like Jojo said, every genre has good music if you dig deeper than the surface.
Cold technical proficiency doesn't do it for me with music, either.Meh, a lot of bluegrass leaves me cold, technical proficiency without soul, similar to a lot of Jazz musicians and rock guitarists.
