I wonder which entrance to the arena is going to have the statue of the Brink line being put together for the first time.

Laughton is back to pacing around his career high PPG rate. It is Briere's job to turn that into an offer he likes, particularly if the package he wants is as realistic as the one you're outlining.

A good GM needs to have the killer instinct of maxing out value for his trade chips and the negotiation skills to coerce a sucker into paying/overpaying. I do not want to hear that he couldn't get an offer he didn't like; that means he is either asking for too much or he can't negotiate from a position of strength. Just for once I'd like to see a Flyers GM rip off another GM's face in a trade instead of hearing excuses about how difficult it is.

Or worse yet, hearing about how they want to make the other side happy.

You said this last year with this regime. And the year before. And the year before. It never happens.

Maybe because he doesn't have to take an offer he doesn't like in June either, since he's likely to get as good or better offer before next TDL? and so on and so on and so on and so on and so on

Maybe it's better to negotiate from a position of strength?
A key in negotiation is the credible threat to walk away from the table.

Future team President St. Scott of Laughton will be extended, not traded

Future developmental Coach Ristolainen will not be traded, he will simply retire as a Flyer with his non playoff streak intact.

But don’t worry, Frost will be dealt for a 4th in March and Farabee will packaged with that 4th, have half his contract retained, and moved for a late 2nd at the draft

I’m an outsider wondering about Farabee. I haven’t watched many Flyers games this season but in the games I’ve watched he seemed more tentative than I’ve seen him before, like he’s gripping his stick too tight and has lost confidence.

I really thought that he would at least replicate last year’s production and likely improve on it. But he has only 6 goals and it’s almost halfway through the season. What’s up with him? Have you lost hope in him turning out to be the player he projected to be early in his career?

I think he's become a bit of a "tweener." Hasn't been able to fill out his lanky frame enough to be effective in crowds, but lacks the skating ability of a top flight "finesse" forward.

He's still a solid forward, has some bad puck luck this season but the underlying metrics are solid.
Smart, good hands, good shot, problem this season is fit.
Could still give you 40+ ES points with the right center in a 2LW role, but I think that's his ceiling.

Do you know about our lord and emperor John Tortorella?

Haha nope never heard of ‘em ;)
He did ok under Torts last year, no? Have you noticed a difference in his game compared to last season?
Biggest difference is adding Michkov pushed him down the ladder, and the emergence of the Foerster - Cates - Brink line limits his options in the top 9.

With TK, Michkov, Tippett ahead of him in the pecking order, and Laughton having a better season, Farabee is struggling to garner top 9 PT.

People are going to blame the injuries but I’d look before that. (Partly bc I haven’t watched enough last couple years)

He came in looking like a skilled guy. No real outstanding traits but I remember thinking he reminded me of Simon Gagne Lite.

I’ll die on a hill that says they tried to turn him into more of a power forward/net front type player. His game to me at least seemed to make that switch, and not for the better.

He’s screwed imo. I’d consider buying low as another organization but wouldn’t have high hopes.

Just looking at raw numbers his time on ice is down almost a full minute, and his shooting % is really low so far. His average is about 12% per year and this year it sitting at 7%. Thinking about it him getting 50 pts last year seems like a miracle with the dismal offensive schemes and god awful PP this team currently has.

That being said I do recall him missing lots of golden opportunities earlier in the season. Lately though it seems like hes not even near those opportunities. So hes probably in his head right now and John wont do anything to help him get out of it.

Get Tortorella away from the team and a lot of our players will start doing better
