Tippett under Torts: 124 P (100 ES, 24PP) in 189 games at -31 gets an 8 x $6.2m contract

Frost under torts: 102 P (82 ES, 20 PP) in 182 games at -15 gets a 2 x $2.1m contract

Seems like a steep price hike for going from 0.56 P/GP to 0.66.

If the authentics could read, they'd be pissed at you for posting this.

Watching Michkov, he's probably hitting the rookie wall.
The NHL schedule is more compressed, especially this season with the 4 Nations.
47 and 48 games (excluding int'l) last two seasons in MHL/KHL.
Already 32 games in the NHL and we're still in December.

He doesn't look as explosive with his skating.
We'll get a feel watching him after 6 days off, if he rebounds, that suggests they should limit his workload the rest of the season.

I am shocked I tell you shocked Rocky skates by again.

Rocky must have more pictures of Torts than a Diddy party.
The clown of a coach puts the PP failures on Michkov. That's an example of how ridiculous it is to have this coaching staff around. You couldn't blame MM if he told Briere to **** off and went back to Russia rather than put up with this nonsense. Michkov is a person whoo is interested in playing serious hockey. Tortorella is not on the same page with him.

They don't have to give away Zamula. Send Johnson down to the minors as he bears no relevancy to this club. Rotate Andrae/Zamula/Drysdale/Seeler as they see fit.

Seems like they can't figure out what they have in Lycksell because there is no opportunity for Lycksell to play, again. What happened to the revolving door you claimed for years on end?

Like above, send Deslaurier down to the minors as he bears no relevancy to this club.

...or not?

No f***ing shit. And with the track record this current management has and this club has held over the last 12 years... yeah... I'm learning towards NOT.

With 2.5 years left Briere/Jones stated it would take a massive overpayment to get a guy like Laughton off the Flyers.

With 1.5 years left then the only logical thought is now the value has gone up. You said yourself, he's having a better season. Couple that with his more affordable contract, and, well... which team is going to overpay for a Scott Laughton, your typical dime-a-dozen player?

The Lycksell and Zamula/Andrae situations would have been resolved if the team had made the obvious easy decisions to trade Laughton and Seeler.

Why do I get the feeling the GM is going to be making this exact comment with regards to the rebuild at some time in the future?
Half the young players have "leveled off" under Torts. Brink, Foerster, and Farabee all look worse this season. York has been up and down (expected of a young player) but looks more down than up lately. Zamula looks horrid. Tippet has put up a career high 53 points, but Frost looks like a shell of himself. Michkov I'll give a pass to because he's still a rookie. Andrea looked good but now that he doesn't look as good the team has banished him. Cates, despite his recent heater, is a good 4th liner who has put up worse scoring numbers season over season; *may* improve from one season to the next this year, but too early to say definitely. The goaltenders have all turned into Swiss cheese.

Sure seems like every year more young players regress than improve. Tippet is basically the lone success story. Maybe York but he's been almost exactly what I pictured he would be on draft day. Michkov to early to tell. Cates I guess too if you are banking on a 3 game sample size recently.

Everyone else? Stagnation or flat out regression. Which is incredibly concerning.

Keith Jones from 5.20min. Seems they hope to get a top (13) center in the future by being ready to pounce if one can be acquired rather than signing the best available center after their self-imposed wait period with dead cap space is over

Which tells me that they think they’re only missing one piece.

They’re going to send out the assets that are supposed to build with the quantity approach and then pay said person. Or they really do believe that they can package their middle of the pack first round picks for a top five pick which is never going to happen.

I will love to see who this player would be. I’m sure the scouts will nail it.

God help us.

Wayne Gretzky from 83-87 couldn't make this team a cup finalist.

But then again could 99 overcome Rocky's pp?

I think they look at what Homer did paying up for Pronger and what Vegas did taking a shot at Eichel (along with Stone as a UFA) and want to be in that position.

They got rid of two long-term contracts they didn't think were pieces and tried with the third in Sanheim (who they now like as a long-term piece). They view Tippett as a long-term piece clearly and likely over-value other internal players.

Acquiring elite talent through FA or trades is definitely Flyers.

This team can BS you all they want but they have always undervalued the draft. They fail at it for years, and don’t care to address the putrid scouting, or stupidity in willingly perpetually picking outside of the top picks.
