Risto and Laughton only trade bait with real value.

Seeler never had as much value as people thought, including me.
Chris Tanev only garnered a 2nd (NJ got a 4th for retaining 50%)
Edmundson garnered a 2024 3rd, 2025 5th
Zadorov 2024 5th, 2026 3rd

As far as Hathaway,
Beauvillier garnered a 5th.
Tatar 2024 5th

I’ll take a 5th. Who cares. It frees up cap and roster space

Guys, guys, we're looking at this all wrong! Danny resigned Seeler so he wouldn't have to go out at the deadline last year and give up a pick for some washed vet defenceman like, I don't know, Eric Johnson? What a blunder that would have been.

Could you imagine? A team signing a career journeyman like Seeler for four years instead of trading him for futures, and paying to bring in Johnson? During a rebuild?

We should consider ourselves lucky we have a maverick like DB at the helm so we can avoid catastrophes like that.

Charlie said on his podcast while it was a cap/roster move before the roster freeze. He said it was made easier for Andrea to be the guy because he’s just not in Tortorella’s plans currently. Tortorella wasn’t going to play him much if at all over the next two games.

He couldn’t explain or really find rationale as to why Andrea is in Tortorella’s doghouse fwiw.

Oh my God, we're down a 4th rd pick.
Meanwhile we have (3) 1sts and (3) 2nds (all likely to be between 32-45)

But that 4th, we could have missed out on a potential allstar.

Is there any particular reason why Tortorella wasn't sent down to the AHL instead?
