I can see a world where Jett develops into a more effective player than Frost now. He'll get every opportunity to do so -- He'll get PP and PK time right away. He'll be put with offensive wingers.

You said Luchanko will be better than him in a year or two.
Jett just made the Canadian Jr team and is projected to be their 3C.
Three players younger (and a goalie), McKenna (#1 in 2026), Martone (top 5 2025), and Schaefer.

He'll be 6'0 195+ next September (5'11 187 last June)
He'll fit right in playing a high tempo, two way game.
I can see them putting him with Michkov.

So he is getting gifted the best player right from the go without earning it..interesting

It's nice that Jett made the WJ in his D+1, it should give him some confidence and will be interesting to see how he stacks up.

Attard taking Risto's spot in the lineup any day now

So you're not going to accuse us of overrating prospects anymore, right? Yeah? Agreed?

I'd be happy if Jett is a solid two way 2C, 40 or so ES points and top defense in his peak years.
And I'd think he'd fit the aggressive PK, replace Laughton as TK's partner.

Right now, it would be nice if a guy “too good for the OHL” cracked the top 30 in points/game in the OHL. Putting the cart before the horse pencilling in his NHL ES production.

Kieron Walton was selected in the 6th round this past draft, and he has 51 points in 30 games on a team with 3 more goals scored than Guelph.

Frost's ppg in his D+1 was +0.42 from where Luchanko currently is; almost a point every other game higher.

Frost did play on a better team, but he was also one of the ~5 best players in the OHL. Sort of meaningful for him to lead that top team.

I like Luchanko for what he is — and I do think he can leverage certain traits to outscore his raw talent — but his skill issues from last year look the same this year. He didn’t do anything but crash the net backdoor in his much heralded time with the big club. He can get traded and have an uptick, I don’t really care because his skill level is so visibly average by itself. But a certain someone has to piss on our heads and tell us it’s raining with this organization’s crop of *ahem* championship young talent.

So… Luchanko will be better than Frost “in a year or two” but also will be putting up 40 or so ES points in his peak years?

Frost had 40+ ES points two years ago.
Consistently. That's been the problem with Frost.
Since 2022 (ES) for all forwards (EH):
[Giroux 97 (47)]
TK 97 (47)
[Schenn 88 (66)]
Tippett 85 (75) [tied with Caufield]
Farabee 83 (86)
Frost 71 (131)
Laughton 57 (194)
Cates 46 (247)
Hathaway 44 (256)
Poehling 39 (293)
