I'm sure there are better ways to measure this, but Scott is conceding a whopping 4.67 GA/60 at ES, and 4.27 GA/60 at 5on5. Highest of all forwards with 100+ TOI.

Give Cates credit for having the incredibly low number of 0.78 GA/60 at 5on5 in his 21 games, and a GF% of 78.6% when the next best is 47.6%. 🤯 Interestingly, Cates has the lowest xGF%.

This is Laughton’ defensive heat shot map. He’s been terrible. Red is bad. Blue is good.

Certainly sounds like Drysdale was healthy and sat out longer. I am sure the front office didn't want the bad PR of him as a healthy scratch on top of wanting more roster flexible with him on IR.

100% correct. There were healthy scratches they didn't want leaked.

If you paid even a little attention to what Drysdale said you will notice he made several distinct inferences to being healthy but not being able to play. Scratched.

"The boys were rolling", Drysdale said. :help:

An 8-5-3 team since the start of November is "rolling" when the only notable teams they've beaten since have been NYR (????) and STL, the rest are all non-playoff teams or very bad teams.

No one is allowed to speak out against, let alone question, the God Emperor's decisions. It is known.

I think they also wanted extended coaching time with him.
He certainly looked a lot better last night, 74.92% xGF.
Looked more aggressive on offense.

You can’t steal another teams song especially in the same city. It’s lazy and unoriginal. There was nothing wrong with bro hymn.
I liked Bro Hymn, but I also got why they wanted to make a change after that Bruins series and the roster overhaul in the summer. Clean slate.

I also think there's a certain charm in two teams of different sports in the same city using the same goal song. Connects the song to the city and creates an identity, imo.

If they both grabbed it together, sure. But if I’m remembering right the union had it going for a few years. They just glommed onto its popularity.

In fairness to Drysdale, he played a decent game last night. He has areas that need improvement but he has skills as well. What he needs most of all here is to be coached up by Shaw, given confidence that what he does can benefit the team and then put in positions to succeed.
