Danny wasn't part of Chuck's team, he was imposed upon Chuck by Comcast.
CF knew Briere was put in place as his replacement.

He was President and Alt Governor. He was Comcast.

Even assuming this is true, this narrative you're weaving is very damning. You depict Fletcher as some poor outsider with no agency. Who was then forced out, by the group in charge now. Which has always been in charge.

So the current management group, which is the old management group, is the source of all badness according to your take.

Scott and Fletcher were canned and replaced.

Jones was not part of the organization, Briere had one year basically as an observer, Torts had one season as HC and precipitated the change by calling for a long-term rebuild that he said would take longer than his contract.

Former Flyer Paul Holmgren, then the president of the Flyers, offered to let Brière shadow him. Brière also helped out with player development, assisting at rookie camps and running rehab skates. He helped out for almost two years before being given an official role.

He was more than an observer. He’s been part of the management clique since 2015

Not only was Jones a paid long-time member of the organization, based on the info he was leaking to STG he was deeper in the machine than just broadcast work. They didn't pick him randomly.

Briere was not an observer. They were crediting him with moves, remember?

When you have to create an alternate reality to justify the team, that is a sign you shouldn't be defending them.

Who is "they?" Specifically, not generically.

He wa spart of Chucks team. How on earth can you say otherwise? He was the special assistant to the general manager. Is that not part of the management team?

The Foundational Titans. The ones who have always been here and know everyone, and make sure the people they know and approve of are the only ones hired. Surely you don't think Hilferty randomly settled upon a f***ing broadcaster devoid or any useful experience for POHO on his own?

The same bizarre and useless power structure persists. Because it is allowed to persist itself.
