2024-25 Roster…too soon?

Not a vet in sight

Disappointing Vlasic doesn’t seem to attend these ever when he will likely wear an A in the not so distant future I imagine

Yea I try not to take optional practice too much into account because it's not, but it is a bit telling. Kane for example always went to these.

On one hand, not a great look.

On the other, Vlasic leads all Hawks in TOI by a wide margin.

I'd rather avoid burnout with him, so I'm willing to cut him some slack.
Should have mentioned he has been far from any of our teams worries this season just sad that it seems like none of our veteran players ever attend these it is always Bedard, Nazar, and the rest of the kids that are the only ones who consistently show up. If someone like Maroon doesn’t show up oh well but I feel like the standard should be higher for the captain and alternates instead they miss every single one of these.

Quite the farcry from the last leadership group with Kane Toews Keith and Sharp days.

Literally had a top line that was working for several games now

Yeah I agree it's really weird and seems counterproductive.

I like the defense though. I prefer De Mastro on his left though for sure, but it's fine for the start with KK.

The don't need to sign any D in the offseason.

That group + Murphy and Crevier... they're set. Just let the kids play. The minutes will sort themselves out as they prove who deserves them the most. [obviously Brodie will be bought out]

No surprise, but Allan is the odd man out. Not only really bad this year, but a classic Stanley blunder and a remnant of the original Jones trade. Hard to see him ever working his way up the depth chart. Even when Murphy leaves, he'll still only be #8. And that's without factoring in future draft picks.

Allan is not odd man out, they've been rotating the young guys this year to give them all a look to determine who is who for next year and beyond. You don't need to go full Musto here. Allan already played most of the season, they want to see what else they have.

Kaiser - 49 games (pending RFA)
Allan - 43 games (1 year left on ELC)
Crevier - 30 games (pending RFA)
Del Mastro - 22 games (1 year left on ELC)
Korchinski - 10 games (1 year left on ELC)
Levshunov - 9 games (2 or 3 years left on ELC)

Think the plan is to burn a year, allow us to re-sign him sooner and for hopefully cheaper.
the baseball nerds seem to be big on the value of manipulating service time and there isn't even a salary cap, not sure the hawks brass is right on this one tbh, the goal is to get 2x value or whatever on the aav of a player, easier to do when you have an elite player on an elc that wouldn't otherwise be

That only applies if a contender has a player of that quality. The Hawks aren’t contending for awhile yet, so it’s not going to make a difference.

Allan has looked the worst out of that whole group.

He's not beating out any of them (+Rinzel) for a spot.
