When has Davidson acquired young talent? I cannot recall one young upside play. He's great at getting undervalued veterans for picks but that seems to be his only bread & butter.

The "young talent" in question are mid-lineup players who are about to be 25 and 26-years-old by seasons end.

They are Anthony Beauvillier's, a player Davidson acquired quite literally just last year.

Adding young forward talent to the future core

At the deadline:
Trade Ryan Donato + Jason Dickinson (@50% retention) to Toronto for Fraser Minten

Minten is 20, plays center, skates well, and adds size to the lineup (6'2" 190lbs).

In the offseason:
Trade Seth Jones to Florida for Mackie Samoskevich

Samoskevich is 22, a high skill player, and one of the best skaters in the league.

2025-2026 lineup:
Bertuzzi-Bedard-Nazar
Teravainen-Minten-Samoskevich
Lardis-Greene-Mikheyev
Slaggert-Reichel-Foligno
Dach

Vlasic-Crevier
Korchinski-Murphy
Allan-Del Mastro
Brodie

Soderblom
Brossoit?
Mrazek

Ignore the big ticket UFAs that won't fit the timeline. Let the kids play.

Didn't you whine all last season that KK was brought to NHL too soon. Now you have practically every prospect in NHL.

I've always been a Greene fan but there's no chance he's ready for the NHL next year. Same for Lardis.

You realize that lineup would be around 12M below the cap floor.

What about these:

1. To Hawks: Nemec. To NJ: Kaiser, Athansiou (Hawks cover all salary) and a 4th round pick
2. To Hawks: Lafferty To Buffalo: Kurashev Change of scenery deal

The Devils would never do that. They'd be giving up a recent 2OA pick for a decent young defensemen who wouldn't be able to crack their lineup, a forward who currently can't crack the lineup of the second worst team in the league, and a 4th round pick. Plus I don't know how the Hawks could cover all of a player's salary in a trade.

I think we overestimate Kaiser's value to other teams. Yes, he's a solid young defensemen but doesn't do anything all that well and he's left handed. I can't think of too many teams that would give up that much for him because I think there are a lot of guys just like him around the league. Crazy thing though as if he were the exact same player but right handed, we wouldn't want to trade him but we could probably get a 3rd, maybe even a 2nd for him.
