My guess is teams are calling about Jones trying to get him essentially for free. I don’t think KD is in any hurry to get rid of him for nothing. Guess we’ll see.

Even if he's not as terrible as he's mostly been since returning from injury I would imagine if you can get him off your hands relatively painlessly then it would be smart to do so. Ideally there's no retention.

Could be a trade with all the Colorado stuff going on, could be Kaiser, Crevier or Allan getting sent down and just shuffling young defensemen in and out while in the evaluation stage on all of them.

Maybe someone took Brodie for nothing (we can dream)

Why Vlasic isn't at least 2nd unit is puzzling.

Sorenson had a nice start as an NHL coach likely fueled by guys just being extra energized for a new boss.

Since then, he's made some pretty bad decisions IMO. At this point I'm looking forward to whoever replaces him for next season and just hope he doesn't do too much damage in the next 30-40 games or however many they have left at this point.

He should be.

Getting rid of Seth Jones, even for nothing, is beneficial.
The handling of Allan of late is really bizarre. Wonder what's going on especially since it was recently mentioned Martinez doesn't want out of Chicago.
Allan isn't as good as people here make him out to be.

That being said, there's no advantage to playing Brodie over him.

Del Mastro is the better D between him and Allan so it'll be interesting to see what shakes out. Allan is basically showing you his ceiling; solid stay at home guy. Allan has been good in doing what he does.

Allan isn't nearly as bad as you make him out to be.
True. But Kaiser isn't as bad as you make him out to be. I happen to see the talent in both and don't feed into some zero sum game between the two.

Here are the fancy stats when comparing both. And when comparing them when paired with Brodie, Kaiser's #'s are better.

How many minutes have they played with Brodie? I didn't see where/how to filter it by linemates like that.

Go to the upper left-hand corner. Drag the cursor to "players" then select defensive pairs. Hit the + sign for more filters. From the drop down box select Blackhawks.

This should come as no surprise but everyone that's played decent minutes with Brodie has #'s that suffer.

Also, Allan's # with Murphy are good for two reasons- 1) The #'s are good, and 2) He moved up in the line-up

Probably. But Seth would be a big add to a contender’s top 4. That has to cost something, no? Especially in the case that we do retain some.

What do you think is a realistic return?
I have no idea.

To me, his Brent Seabrook contract makes him a negative asset.

If there are GMs willing to give up anything of value for him, I'd be shocked beyond belief.
