Just throwing this out there, not to pick on Bedard. If one of the other tank teams would offer a package starting with their firsts this year and next for Bedard would you make the trade?

The only team that is likely to be bad enough this and next year to make that worth even considering is.... Chicago.

I'm not sure I'd even trust San Jose to be bad enough next year to make that risk worth taking.

I think it’s supposed to be Hughes-Hronek but Hronek has missed 1/3 of the season and now Hughes is week to week

Duh I totally spaced on them not being there. I didn't even realize Hughes was injured. I was just looking at the current lines they're rolling and didn't think twice about who might be missing.

Not too wild about this. Nazar doesn't look ready, KK isn't and neither is Kaiser.

All of these guys deserve looks. Dach is getting his first. Honestly would have been nice to see Korchinski on the top PP unit during his stint but hey, maybe next year.

Reichel’s a bust. Good thing I’m not a scout because two years ago I thought he’d be a 60-70 point top six winger, but he’s been given every opportunity and done nothing with it. He’s been jerked around, but at some point it’s his own responsibility to step up.
He hasn't been given every opportunity. He played with bums like AA or meh vets. You are expecting a mid first round pick to carry a line early in his career. Do forward picks at his number routinely do that? No. Every opportunity would have been playing him with credible vets, which the Hawks are in short supply of.

No matter who he plays with, he doesn’t look like an nhl player. He’ll be 23 in the spring and is on a 26/82 pace. There’s nothing there.

You said in your other post he should be on a 60 - 70 point pace. Who on this Hawks roster would be feeding him to get the 35 goals and accepting his passes so he could get 35 assists? That player isn't on the Hawks roster at the moment, and if he was, he would be playing with Bedard.

He doesn’t look like even a 40 point player. He doesn’t look like an NHL player. The rest of the roster stinking doesn’t mean that Reichel is a mystery box. You’re welcome to hold out hope.

Last season Reichel only looked good with AA and this season his best games been with Maroon and Smith. Reichel in our top 9 been horrendous.

Maroon, Reichel and Smith HAVEN'T BEEN LITERAL SIEVES LIKE TWO OF THE OTHER THREE LINES ON THE TEAM. Bedard isn't a complete player at this stage, for example, and won't be stopping the other team's top lines he plays against until he gets help.

Regarding last year, TJ was a selfish puck hog who wouldn't pass the puck if he was anywhere near the net so how exactly was Reichel supposed to do anything when playing with TJ? Raddysh didn't have the hockey IQ to play with Reichel.

Reichel may be on his way to Europe like Musto says, but that doesn't mean he is at the heart of the Hawks problems. A dreadful roster is where the Hawks problems start, and not even a fully performing Bedard would make much of a difference at this point.

The problem on this roster starts with Seth Jones- (selfish and overpaid boat anchor) and continues with veterans who are a shell of themselves and don't produce -Foligno, Hall, Maroon, TT, Craig Smith.

I don't think Foligno and Maroon are dragging down morale.

It's bums like Jones and Hall.

When veterans who are paid way more than the young guys dont produce it drags down morale. Seth Jones is a negative detriment but Folgno, Hall, Maroon, Dickinson lack of production has same effect when team is getting asses whipped nightly

Imagine being a young guy and thinking you're playing better than Brodie who just got handed a fresh 2-year deal and 7.5M...

Yeah, I'd be bitter and pissed too while playing in the AHL and taking busses.

Tells you everything you need to know.

I feel like going back to when Toews started to coast our optional skates have been a ghost town.

That said, I wouldn't have the slightest clue how many guys skate for optional skates on other teams. I would be curious to know that, though.

It's kind of sad to see a new guy called up for his debut and that's the best turnout you can get for him. To me that would be all the reason to show up even for an extremely light optional skate if I'm his teammate. Pathetic, to be honest.

I think if you've been blown out for a couple weeks, your GM just destroyed you postgame, and you are playing bad personally, you should probably get on the ice and get the led out.

Can't help but think you'd have more guys out there if there was a veteran coach in place. I'm not anti-Sorenson.... yet. But I'm sick of all these rookie head coaches at this point for a team that struggles with basic stuff like effort and conditioning.
