Well Jiricek was already traded so the point is moot I guess but just something to consider. Colton Dach was saying the EDM is the true leader in the Rockford locker room and he's the guy that holds everyone accountable. Now imagine removing that presence and replacing it with a faster, more talented, headache. Trading a real culture guy could interfere with the development of the other guys down there too and I think this is something GMs consider. You guys wouldnt move EDM for Jiricek??? Ill be honest I havent watched him play much but he was AHL rookie of the year as a 19 year old, dominant at the 2023 world juniors and was considered like the top RHD prospect in hockey at one point.
He's only 21. Talent like he has can't be taught. I know there have been concerns about his character and the pace he plays but frankly he reminds me quite of Rinzel in the times Ive watched him play. Obviously it'd be a bit of a gamble but man EDM projects to be like a #5 defensive guy.
Columbus would say go f yourselves lol
I've said it many times before that I think EDM's intangibles are more valuable than others do. And I also think that he has more value to the Blackhawks than he would another team because yeah, his game is limited but he's the natural leader of the prospects. He couldn't be that for another team as he can't just step in to a foreign locker room and be the same guy.
