No red to be found. Backs up my eye test this team is borderline decent. Most folks don’t like it because the O is lagging and that’s no fun. We have exited our tank whether you like it or not.

Tank commanders can hope KD strips it to the studs at TDL and lose with the Rockford kids. Otherwise we’re riding with what’s in our system now.

No doubt they’re better defensively. And they’ve managed to outshoot a few opponents this year which didn’t happen last year.

But it would be silly not to have a fire sale at the deadline. These guys aren’t going to be here in two years anyways, at least see what you can get.

Donato, Maroon, Smith, Hall and Martinez should all 100% be gone. Murphy and Dickinson should also be on the market to see if you can’t extrapolate firsts or good prospects for them since they are players there are very few of available.

Absolutely agree. Dickinson and Hall and Murphy will be good returns.

special teams hasn't been completley awful. pk has actually been pretty good. these are nice to haves.

rags currently allowing 6 fewer goals/60 than expected on the pk is pretty nuts. almost as nuts as edmonton allowing 10 more goals/60 than expected. they really really need to trade for connor murphy and petr mrazek.

Just out of curiosity, can the Avs afford Mrazek?

Pretty sure any deal with them for a goalie is probably sending Georgiev back…. So I can’t imagine cap wise it would be difficult to pull off with that + retention.

I think I looked at it the other day and with max retention they could swing that deal and Colorado walks away with Mrazek and about 1M in new cap space to spend.

They could if they give us back Rantanen.

All kidding aside, I feel like the Hawks have enough draft picks and I'd rather get back young players that could contribute sooner for players that we'll end up selling. Do they have anyone you would want that they might be willing to give up?

I'm always in favor of a continuous stream of surplus draft picks for as long as you're bad. Basically two things happen, either your first wave doesn't turn out well and then you have new picks to hopefully hit where those missed, or if they do hit, you have a lot of assets you can trade with when you're competitive and a cheap pipeline to replace anyone that gets priced out.

If you worry about crowding, you can ask for picks in later years, then the players from the earlier batches will age out as prospects either due to matriculating or moving on as the next wave needs to come in.

I agree with that to a point. If the Blackhawks are not sniffing the playoffs next year, then I think we really have to start evaluating KD and his long term plan. I'm not so much worried about crowding as I'm more in favor of adding talent that can contribute sooner to this growing roster.

A 2026 1st does seem intriguing to me as next year's draft looks to be stacked at the top.

Smurf with about a 10% chance of being a third liner

Bust

Who?

Good pick.

The new AA

Good pick. Hopefully it doesn't take 5 years to develop him

The next Vinny Hinostroza

10% chance of being a fourth line in the nhl

Stop munching into the hype the Chicago Sports media is throwing into the brain wash fefeedback.

Great college/juniors/AHL careers are the same as Al Bundy throwing four touchdowns in a high school game.

Until anybody sees actual tangible proof these kids can actually play in the nhl instead of what looks like being hidden in lower leagues under the "development" label, this regime is sus in evaluating talent.

I mean, if turning a generational goal scorer into a "golly gee wiz" playmaker isn't enough evidence or anything......
You should watch a game sometime.

Don't stand for the Hawks. Stand for Kyle Beech.

What’s the point of more draft picks - so Davidson can piss them away in foolish trades?

This team is stuck in the same void as Buffalo.

Oliver Moore reminds me of Dean McAmmond. He will have a good career but he’s probably not a top 6.
