Now that AA is on waivers and Phillips is back to Rockford, Reichel is definitively the worst player on the roster.

Allan is close though. He's also struggling. But he has less pro experience and plays a harder position. No excuses left for Reichel.
Musto woke up and chose violence lol

Hawks would be well on their way to picking 9th overall with like Patrick Kane, Dylan Strome, Alex DeBrincat, Brandon Hagel, Kirby Dach, Jake McCabe, an average prospect pool lead by Ryan Leonard if the Hawks followed his "advice".
Strome, DeBrincat, Hagel, and Ryan Leonard sounds pretty f***ing sick ngl

Yet outside of Bedard, what do the Hawks have to show for this "tank"?

Debrincat was a 40 goal scorer, yes?
Hagel is a 30 goal scorer, yes?

In between all those players, how many busted?
Tanking and drafting high doesn't automatically mean great players.
Should we write the 2025 draft pick off as a bust as well?

How bout those Dallas stars?

Right now, Davidson has Bedard who isn't the prolific scorer he was in juniors and a boat load of question marks, none of which look like sure fire elite talent.

Nazar is lighting up rockford? Big deal. Do it in the nhl.

Korchinski is a bust, Levshunov hasn't played enough, and everyone else is toiling away under the guise of development.

I'm sorry, great players play in the nhl in 2024. If your trading away great players and getting draft pick slop like Korchinski, you shouldn't be in charge of a rebuild. If you are jettisoning Kane and Toews yet bringing in garbage like Folingo, Brodie, etc, you shouldn't be in charge of a rebuild.

It's funny Poles currently is getting thrown under the bus yet that energy isn't directed at Davidson. Poles made one bad trade(Fields) and one bad draft pick (Caleb) while Davidson has captained a winning organization into the laughing stock of the nhl.

This is how I know you're not a serious person here and why you're not a Hawks fan and likely a Wings fan that gets your fix of lulz here with an ultra-contrarian schtick .

This post is so unfocused and honestly all over the map.

To recap - the only thing Hawks have to show for tanking is Bedard (1/2 players draft in a post-tank season), who is not that good because he doesn't have 50 goals. Everyone else (18-20 years old) is a Bust "toiling away under the guise of development" [what does this even mean?] because they're not in the NHL and great players play in the NHL right away, despite the fact that really only 1st overalls play in the NHL right away, which you of course don't want because being shitty for three years is the laughing stock of the NHL and bad veterans bad.

Fully included with a Dallas Stars reference, the poster-child of "just hit on all your draft picks, bro" and whose young players (who are older than the Hawks top young players/prospects) all did spend time "toiling away under the guise of development" and did not play in the NHL right away.

And then a random Chicago Bears reference for good measure because that topic apparently interests you more than any sort of in-depth Hawks talk.

If I had to say there was a thesis statement to this, I would say there is none, just "Davidson sucks".

Martin Misiak
Smurf with about a 10% chance of being a third liner
Kevin Korchinski,
Bust
Paul Ludwinski
Who?
AJ Spellacy
Good pick.
Oliver Moore
The new AA
and Sasha Boisvert
Good pick. Hopefully it doesn't take 5 years to develop him
Frank Nazar
The next Vinny Hinostroza
and Gavin Hayes
10% chance of being a fourth line in the nhl

Stop munching into the hype the Chicago Sports media is throwing into the brain wash fefeedback.

Great college/juniors/AHL careers are the same as Al Bundy throwing four touchdowns in a high school game.

Until anybody sees actual tangible proof these kids can actually play in the nhl instead of what looks like being hidden in lower leagues under the "development" label, this regime is sus in evaluating talent.

I mean, if turning a generational goal scorer into a "golly gee wiz" playmaker isn't enough evidence or anything......

You are arguing with a brick wall, just FYI. Ignore him like the rest of us.

Show me one time where I posted in the wings forum here. I'll wait. The only nice thing ive ever said about the Wings are they signed Kane and Cat. Former Hawks, of course.

But its a meme here and memes are funny.
You tipped your hand by talking too much about Dach over Moritz Seider, which goes against the "Bowman so addicted to winning, did all the good stuff" thing. Nobody gives a crap about Moritz Seider that much other than Wings fans.

Go ahead?

If Levshunov isn't in the NHL for charity games by the end of the year them again, you have to question the guys evaluating the talent.
This is how I know you're not a serious person here and why you're not a Hawks fan and likely a Wings fan that gets your fix of lulz here with an ultra-contrarian schtick .
Yes, because questioning the moron running this team into the ground= wings fan.

is this how it works? You have to love every move a GM makes? A GM who wouldnt have a job outside of the Hawks?

I am the farthest thing from a white sox fan but will admit that lately they have been killing the draft and have three prospects that are elite talents. Does this now make me not a cubs fan? Kris Bryant is best? Good clean fun in wrigley field? Cubs winning is the feel good moment of the summer?

good lord....

Yes
Everyone else (18-20 years old) is a Bust
nope, never said that.

said Korchinski is a bust. Said nobody else looks like players you win cups with in pivotal roles.
"toiling away under the guise of development" [what does this even mean?]
You answer it right here \/
because they're not in the NHL and great players play in the NHL right away,
If you are drafting players to "develop" then you better have a plan in place to be competitive while your generational talent is wasting his elc in the nhl. I'm sorry, the Folignos and Brodies of the league ain't it.
despite the fact that really only 1st overalls play in the NHL right away, which you of course don't want because being shitty for three years is the laughing stock of the NHL and bad veterans bad.
Then get talent? Actual good talent.
Fully included with a Dallas Stars reference, the poster-child of "just hit on all your draft picks, bro" and whose young players (who are older than the Hawks top young players/prospects) all did spend time "toiling away under the guise of development" and did not play in the NHL right away.
Because they had a good team and could afford to develop them. They also didn't need to completely gut their team because they draft good. Something that's still up in the air with the Hawks.
And then a random Chicago Bears reference for good measure because that topic apparently interests you more than any sort of in-depth Hawks talk.
So Poles= bad but Davidson=good?
If I had to say there was a thesis statement to this, I would say there is none, just "Davidson sucks".
Now you're getting it.

Seider isn't a great player?

Sorry, I didn't like the Dach pick and if memory serves me I wanted Byram.

Now? I'd take Seider.

That's what makes me a Wings fan?

Good lord.....

It’s quite odd to make an statement like ‘Davidson sucks’ and instead of providing evidence that he sucks by evaluating his prospect picks instead use that assumption as evidence that the prospects he drafted suck (except the ones other people don’t like). It’s fascinating to witness the seemingly contradictory condition of being that arrogant, willfully ignorant and inferior to the point of being so contrarian.

There’s the willful ignorance again.

Are you capable of making an argument in good faith?
What part of the Hawks are bad isn't true?

What argument would you like? That they're bad on purpose for higher draft picks? That actual grown ass men are playing with the intention to lose cuz "tank bro"?

Or

Are they bad because the GM is bad? That the GM doesn't have a clue on how to build a Cup conten.....a playoff team? That his draft picks all have flaws and his generational talent is looking more and more like a good player instead of the next great player?

If you are buying into the media drivel that this team has to lose to get good players, that the GM sabotaged his own team?

This isn't a Theo/Cubs situation since Theo hit on all his high picks outside of one, and even then Almora had value. Theo hit on trades, FA signings, he had a plan.

What's Davidsons plan? You don't know because he doesn't know. Cap flexibility is greater then winning? Come on now.

It's year three. There should be signs of improvement. There isn't. You cannot blame the coach for playing the garbage his GM got him. This team should be fighting for a playoff spot outside of injuries yet they don't even have players who can compliment Bedard. Was that done on purpose? Or is the GM that clueless he doesn't know the types of players his generational talent needs?

And lastly, don't give me the "it takes time" excuse. Davidson dug himself in this hole by getting rid of two core players for nothing, both of whom, ironically, would look good playing with Bedard. And anybody can tell me until they're blue in the face how they needed to trade them to get Bedard and I can say unapologetically the team would have still been bad with Hagel and Cat. Both are still young, he'll, younger then the garbage Davidson has brought in.

If I'm ignorant, I'm not as ignorant as Davidson. See, you all can block me and I can care less, no offense. But if your a Hawks fan, good luck blocking the Hawks.

(Lights cigar)

Nailed it. Say Kyle Davidson is on track to building a Dynasty, Luke Richardson is the best coach in the League, Bedard is going to break the all time goal record or GTFO. Thanks.
If that's the case....

Didn't you make the stars thread on the main forum?

With this logic, wouldn't you be a stars fan?

It's year three. There should be signs of improvement. There isn't.
2022-23 while still stripping for parts they had a -1.183 goal differential per game played.

Last season they had a -1.354 goal differential per game played.

This season thus far they have a -0.5 goal differential per game played.

This team should be fighting for a playoff spot
Why?

And lastly, don't give me the "it takes time" excuse. Davidson dug himself in this hole by getting rid of two core players for nothing, both of whom, ironically, would look good playing with Bedard.
Both of whom, not ironically, probably aren't playing with Bedard even if they did re-sign because you have to fully suck to pick first overall.
I can say unapologetically the team would have still been bad with Hagel and Cat.
Lol now you can't even make up your mind. Riddle me this (a) if they are still bad with Hagel and Cat, wouldn't being bad with extra draft capital be bad than being bad without extra draft capital, (b) but if Hagel and Cat are good, so good in fact to be "core", wouldn't these good players have lead to more wins worsening the Hawks draft position?

That actual grown ass men are playing with the intention to lose cuz "tank bro"?
No, the "grown ass men" are fighting for their jobs and position in the League. The Hawks on an organization level however are realizing that this is not an ideal time to go "all in", based on what they have or could have compared to what is currently out there Leaguewide.

The Hawks tried it with your very band of core players. The result is the 2021-22 season. Fast forward a few years, that team's young players from then worth anything are on their UFA deals now.

I think Florida could be a spot for Seth Jones in the offseason. He would accept a trade there. Ekblads 7.5 coming off the books and Bennetts 4.5??? Win now. They are very thin back there.

Possibly Detriot or Anaheim?

Patrick Kane became Martin Misiak and a 4th

Alex DeBrindcat became Kevin Korchinski, Paul Ludwinski and AJ Spellacy

Brandon Hagel became Oliver Moore and Sasha Boisvert

Kirby Dach became Frank Nazar and Gavin Hayes

Jake McCabe will be a 1st
The orginal point stands...it is not just what we ended up with for the players moved (and that is yet to be determined by prospects taken and their development as well as draft evaluations/luck on who we took) but the fact that it landed us Bedard (instead of Leonard as our top prospect) and #2OA in Levshunov as well as likely a top 5 pick this draft. There is also a trickle down effect of our pick position in later rounds where higher is statiscally better regardless of if we hit on the specific guys we took like Gajan/Lardis...the fact that sucking put us in a position to take them with higher pick position is a plus.

Agree on Florida and even Detroit or Anaheim being viable options. Another 5 million jump this offseason in the cap is going to move Jones annual cap hit closer to rational value as opposed to the significant overpay it has been up to now.

We are also getting to the point where we need to cull the herd on LD propsects and hope we can evaluate our own pro prospects and move the right guys. Moving one (or even 2) fairly soon of Kaiser, Allen, EDM, KK, Phillips while they still have value would be good as some are likely to amount to nothing much in the end and being able to id those now and move on even if for a reset/pick would be good. Hopefully we don't pick the wrong one and get to watch Forsling being really good elsewhere.

Question for you Blackhawk fans. Is Connor Murphy a serviceable top 4 stay at home d-man and what would you want from the Sabres for him in a trade?
