What's worthwhile is if it is tied with positive results like Vlasic, it seems good. It shows him being way more than just a steady stay at home.. which you get watching but it's data to back that
This is the big takeaway. We all know that Vlasic isn't chasing plays, we can see that from watching him. So if he's skating out there, it's likely him activating and jumping up into plays.

Like I said in my post initially when I posted the tweet, he's developing past just being a SAH shutdown guy.

Are there any top line RFA options the Hawks can target even if they had to trade for help for Bedard?
Depends who decides to re-up with their teams.

Wyatt Johnston is probably the most appealing, but Dallas can afford him. In general the top RFAs are on teams that will have enough cap space to keep them.

The only target I'm seeing is that Florida might not be able to match Samoskevich. Chicago could offer him $4,580,917, and they'd only owe Florida a 2nd round pick.

He's not currently a 1st liner, but there's upside with him. He's a superb skater, and he'll be getting that sweet playoff experience with the Panthers this year. Panthers are mainly giving him 4th line minutes since they're so deep, but he would break out with the Hawks imo.

I like Nolan Allan. He looks like an NHL d man.

Would you trade anyone on the roster for him right now?

He'd have to go through Waivers. Unless there's some other roster move to be made, they'll just keep him around as an Extra. He makes a League Minimum salary.

And?

He is Joey Anderson

If he is lost on waivers, it makes no difference. Hell, it opens up a roster spot for Hawks which could be useful watching waiver wire ourselves or looking around league in trade discussions

Nick Robertson sitting again tonight for Leafs. I'd like to see KD try to grab him though it probably would take a pretty good draft pick, perhaps 2nd round.
A 2nd round pick for a small 23 year old with 35 points Top Six or Bust Forward whom everyone knows is on the way out of his current situation off a hunch would be a bad overpayment.

Just another case of a player being in Toronto making them overrated because there's extra discussion on him. The Sharks gave a 3rd for Liljegren, I'd probably offer even less than that for a guy who is not a proven NHLer (11 games with 1 point, now in the pressbox). He's basically Reichel but a year older (and Reichel is off to a nice start).

Follow the chain. I'm not concerned with Anderson getting claimed off waivers, just that he's not someone you send down to "get some games in". They can send Anderson down, but it'd probably be because they're accommodating some other roster move. I think at least for now they'll keep him around. Probably a guy who can hang around one of the extra Forward spots long enough until a spot opens up with injury, and then eventually a more "this season only" permanent spot if players are traded.

A 2nd rounder for Robertson would be terrible for Hawks. It would be akin to giving up 2nd for Rundblad

Rights to D Taige Harding or a late pick would be my offer. Harding I doubt will be signed by Hawks at this point with our D depth and his relatively meh NCAA career

Nick Robertson is the definition of inefficiency. You know how some players make it look so easy that they seem also lazy? Yeah Nick is the opposite of that. He makes everything look so damn hard, even simple plays, and that’s why it looks like he’s working hard. Why would you want a player that makes everything on the ice harder?

To join the choir....absolutely not on Robertson for a 2nd. 5'9 and always hurt. Last year was the first time he played over 60 games in a season going back 6 years prior. Joey Anderson or a '28 7th rounder is about all I give up for Robertson.

Robertson stinks and is too small. No interest in him even if he were free. He’d just get in the way of blocking a better prospect if anything.

Wonder what Donato could fetch. If he keeps playing this well, he can definitely help someone loading up. At same time, everyone knows this is the biggest heater he's ever been on and it won't be sustained so nobody should go crazy.

Re-do the Lafferty/McCabe deal but with him and Murphy.

I think he only gets moved for a 1st round pick.

Unlikely to receive that offer but I think if the only thing on the table is a late 2nd from a contender, Chicago would rather extend him.

Stunley Blowman seems like the absolute perfect partner....Murphy (50% retained) + Donato + conditional 5ths (dependent on Murphy's durability) for Stecher '26 1st & '28 2nd

Is there any track record of a player who at age 28 goes from a ~30pt 3rd liner to suddenly a legit top 6 wing on a good team?
