He’s gonna be like last year isn’t he? Start a little slow, and then completely dominate once he gets used to the speed of the game.

Probably. Here's an interest statistical look at Levshunov that should provide a lot of hope:

Let's look at his shots on goal. With small sample sizes it can be more reliable to look at shots on goal as they happen at a more frequent and consistent rate than goals and assists so imo they normalize a little quicker.

In 5 games Levshunov already has 17 shots including three games in a row with 4. In other words, Levshunov leads the entire AHL in defenseman shots per game. You get that many pucks on goal and you are going to put up a ton of points. Be patient, they're coming.

Good stuff. Watched a lot of Levshunov and one of his absolute strengths is finding shooting lanes. He doesn’t bury pucks in shin pads. It looks ugly, he has these little no load flicks at the net. And everyone says, “well I don’t know if his production matched the plays he made on the ice” because they are these little trash shots for goals and rebounds.

But he gets a little bit on them, and they get through. Which is the absolute most underrated skill of a defensemen. Not sure we’ve had a defensemen consistently get pucks through since pre-Keith.

First game Ive watched, currently 3-1 iowa. Nazar is clearly the best Icehog on the ice, something happens everytime he touches the puck. Id would just say that he lacks a little bit of precision to his game but all the right ideas are there and he effortlessly creates separation. Savoie's speed creates a lot room. Levshunov has a ways to go - he cleared the puck carelessly right into the slot on Iowa's third goal and hasnt been noticeable

Levshunov doesn't put the puck on net and turns it over, then turns it over in his own zone and its 4-3 Iowa on a leaky one.

Oooof 5-3, Commesso with another bad one. (JK, it was tipped)

Josh MacNevin doing a great job with Lev & Korch
Seems like the team in general is a mess defensively and the goalies aren’t helping.

Korch is already a -8 on the year. If they’re still using Lev and Korch together then they need to stop.

Nazar with a three point night. Might as well call him up, Kurashev and Foligno aren’t the answer to the 2C spot.

Levshunov has been a legit train wreck tonight.

They already ended that experiment.

Hahahahah Reese Johnson just got absolutely ran over by Nazar.
