MTL & NY/NJ ties 0-0 after one period. No further comments, as I was otherwise distracted during most of that 20 minutes.

End of 2 periods, Victoire lead 2-0. Marie-Philip Poulin scored twice early in that period, and she was assessed a 5-minute charging penalty late. The badder news for the Sirens was that they logged just one SOG during that major penalty, and MTL matched that number shorthanded.

Game over ... Final Score = Victoire 2-Sirens 1 in regulation. NY's Allyson Simpson brought hope to her team's bench late-ish in the game, but even a PP and an extended extra attacker press couldn't tie the game. Close but no OT.

Women's hockey fans in Halifax NS & Summerside P.E.I. will no doubt have their voices heard.
