2024-25 Prospect Thread

It's only been a few minutes but Veilleux was playing his off-side for a shift and showed some pretty promising edgework and four-way mobility.

Excited to see what he does at Cornell next season...

He's back on his natural side for the next shift, but keeps everything in front of him, good first pass too.

Edit: He's back on his off-side but set a teammate up for a suicide pass off the boards. His edge work and hockey sense seem really good though regardless.

Musk crawling their way back with plenty of time. 3-5 with a couple to go in 2nd, but they've had all the momentum for about 10 minutes straight.

Insanely poised zone exit from XV, carries the puck out under pressure and makes a nice pass for a zone entry. Toews-esque...

Musk gets a dirty-ass goal that went through about 5 minutes of review and it is now 4-5 heading into the 3rd. Musk with all of the momentum, on away ice nonetheless...

Quick opinion is that he's a Hickey/Toews hybrid if he pans out. Could be play 2nd pairing? Sure, but on a Cup Winning team probably a good third pairing D who can play either side.

I have hopes that he can be a 2nd line center. I think he’s really heady and has tremendous skill as a playmaker. He’s also really good defensively. If he ended up a legit 3rd line center I wouldn’t be mad but I have slightly higher expectations for him.
New Frans Nielsen?

New Frans Nielsen?
Frans only had a few seasons where I’d consider him a legit 2C and he was at the lower end of 2C. I have higher expectations for Ritchie than that. But as far as being a skilled 2way center that can play both PP and PK, yes definitely similar to Frans in that well.

Ritchie has a nice shot, also a very good passer and still handler. Probably needs to work on his skating a little. Not a horrible skater, but not great either.

His upside is a premier third liner.
Maybe, we shall see. People probably felt Stars’ 2nd round pick a few years back, Jason Robertson, his upside was premier third liner. You never know.
