Cal Ritchie powerplay assist. Oshawa going to OT against Barrie
Oshawa sweeps. Ritchie with 3 pts and a late goal.
London sweeps and goes off to OHL finals
Jesse Nurmi scored
I have only been score board watching this round but from reports he’s doing all the little things to help the team win. Personally, I would like to see a former 1st round draft pick who’s 20 years old dominate more points wise but he’s certainly not struggling.About time!
Up until this game, he only had 2 points on the 17(!) goals they had scored in the first three games.
IMO, Ritchie has done everything he can at juniors. His test is going to be at training camp and how he transitions to the pro level.Up to 7 points in 12 games. It's ok, although I've seen them all and two of the assists were, well, generous gimmes by the statkeepers.
Still, we're talking about a 20-year old import player on the most powerful junior team on the continent and his regular season consisted of 9-22-31 in 58 games.
That's essentially a strong statement that you're not an NHL topic.

I think him dominating juniors - which he has tho season - proves nothing more
It sounds a lot like Ryan Strome rather than Dylan. He'll be playing pro one way or another next season.
Not sure he's done everything he can at the junior level.
I suppose 80 points in 50 games (30 in 21 PO games) followed by 70 in 47 games (20 in 16 PO games) can be understood as "dominating". We've all certainly seen more dominant performances and the very quiet WJC was less than impressive.
My eye test having watched a number of the games since we acquired him doesn't have me bringing his name and the word dominating into the same sentence. He's kind of subtle. He has several teammates who pop out a lot more and what hasn't been impressive IMHO is seeing him get pinned up on the boards as easily as he can be.
I'm finding it hard to project if those very quick passes of his will be something that makes him special when playing with (skilled) pros. His skating is not something that will be a strength at the next level, so I'm hoping it's that puck-moving propensity that'll separate him a bit.
I know I've mentioned Dylan Strome recently when seeking a comparable for Misa but that could be a fairly good comparable for Ritchie too.
Which we be fantastic!
