Something about him and his style makes me think he's not someone worth investing a contract in.
Interesting take Chapin, I’d like to hear more. With our prospect pool I just figured he’d be worth keeping around since he does have some goal scoring. But older prospect so I don’t think it would be a big loss for us either way

Jesse Nurmi also had 2 goals for London on Sunday

How good is Quinn Finley 24 GP, 18 goals, 15 asst. 33 points - 2nd in overall scoring? Doing this as a sophomore
is he the real deal?

He's the real deal.

The skills he has are translatable.

Skating, puckhandling, shot (definitely the shot), and hockey IQ are on track pro level, likely NHL level.

The big question will be his build moving forward. Will he be/get strong enough. The pro game is a different beast physically.

Goalie Marcus Gidlof gets some praise here

He's in a bit of an SHL back-up mode right now.

He started out his SHL play with a 3-0 record, but has landed on earth again, going 2-3 in partial duty since. His 2.07 GAA and .917 SV% are admirable for a goalie his age.

This said, he's not playing enough for a player his age. It's promising that they go with him in a pinch, but the SHL bench is no-where for an 18-year-old goalie to be.

His last game played whatsoever was the bronze medal game at the WJC.

What's interesting about him is that before and since the draft, he's been smaller or slighter than most of his competition. Now that he's caught up, his production has exploded.

One thing is clear is that he could probably play anywhere on the PP excluding the net front, and be dangerous. If you have multiple players like that, the range of motion & looks possible on a PP really increase. That NYI don't have those types of players now is a big problem with the PP.

So, you're already thinking about Finely and Eisermann being on a PP unit one day?

I sure am. :sarcasm:
