Speculation: 2024-25 Playoffs Thread - series, opponents, players and team discussion

Just a thought: this might be stupid hopeful but is there any way, health permitting, that Tkachuk could come back before the playoffs from a cap perspective? Obviously, we have Ekblad out but I assume we would have to waive someone else to make it work...

We’re really going to need some of the boys to step up in round one. Tkachuk and probably Ekblad will need some time getting back into the game flow and likely won’t be at their best.
Exactly. I'm worried about continuing injuries, rust and lack of chemistry with new pieces. And whoever we face, it's going to be a tough first round. I do think that if we're all back and manage to survive that first round, we'd have a really good chance of making it to our third straight final. Obviously, that's a big "if"...

The silver lining is that the guys are having to step up and the grind out the rest of the season which, as long as we have no further injuries, will probably end up being a good thing come playoffs. Coming into the playoffs battling adversity is no bad thing, and seeing how we look with different combinations gives Maurice more potential options.

Selfishly I'd like to see Denver get an early exit from the NCAA playoffs. I would really like to see Devine get signed and get a few games in with the team.

From what little I've seen, he seems to play a grinding game and net front presence that the team could use.

Just realized Verhaghe is a -19 wow. Also has 46 points in 71 games compared to last year where he had 72 in 76.
blud got his extension and said im retiring

Thank god our depth scoring is better than last year. I wont bad mouth CV too much for what hes done but man what a "down" year for him, but hes shooting less than half of what he was the previous years.
Reinharts 57 goals was an aberration but hes still at 35 which is dang good.

Any forward who is playing on PP and not on PK is likely to be a minus with abnormal amount of on-ice empty-net goals against and poor on-ice goaltending. + - is not a good proxy for overall 5-on-5 play

Still has 5 games to get 26 points.

I've done it before on NHL24, so I can't see why he can't either.

Yea, kind of surprised he's never "turned" it around this season. Not like he had a serious injury or anything. Hopefully, he gains his mojo back in the playoffs.

these charts are great and all and im not gonna rag on our best playoff performer too much

But hes been quite off this season, turnovers, weird passes, not able to finish chances, shooting like half his usual %
Luckily for us even being off still means hes close to bein a 20 goal scorer

Screw that! If he doesn’t want to give effort then bring in Devine as a Black Ace and see what Devine has, then we ship Mr. Lazy ass away in the summer.
