We've got a long time to go before the season starts, so why not fill that void with some wild predictions...

How many goals and points do you expect everyone to put up? I'll get it started, going with assuming 82 games so obviously not everyone will hit due to health.

Stutzle: 42g 98pts
Tkachuck: 40g 80pts
Batherson: 27g 75 pts
Giroux: 21g 68 pts
Pinto: 25g 61 pts
Norris: 25g 51 pts
Greig: 17g 39pts
Perron: 14g 42 pts
Amadio: 13g: 35 pts
Gregor: 9g 21pts
Ostapchuk: 7g 20pts
MacEwen: 3g 8pts

Sanderson: 7g 42pts
Chabot: 11g 53pts
Zub: 9g 23 pts
Jensen: 5g 25 pts
JBD: 5g 15pts
Kleven: 7g 14pts

Team total is 285 goals but actual number will be lower as we get injuries and the replacement player scores at a lower clip, my guess is 270.

If Norris is healthy and productive at Center this year, it would be a big plus. It would mean we have strength at center, and we should be able to roll out 3 good lines. That could create favourable match ups for our 3rd line and the depth scoring would help us.

Probably depends on whether we bridge of go for term. My guess would be between 3.75 and 4.5.
I think it will also depend on where he ends up playing for us this season.
If something (knocks on wood) happens to Norris/Pinto/Stutzle, then he might be needed to play more minutes in the middle. If they do decide to put Norris on the wing, that might put him in the middle as well.

If he establishes himself as a solid third-line C, then that might have more value to the team then him being a third-line or even second-line winger.

Either way, I do think that they would look to go with a bridge (2 or 3 years) at something similar to Pinto in the 3m to 3.5m range.

270 goals is (270/82) = 3.292 G/GP. Last season we scored 3.05 G/GP.
3.292 would have placed the team at 10th in the league last season versus 20th at 3.05.

In 2023-24 we were tied at #28-#30 with 2 other teams at 3.43 GA/GP. It will be interesting to see where we go at GA/GP in 2024-25. Having Ullmark in net should improve that stat.

So, I think it's more helpful to look at the raw numbers than the per game.

270 would mean 20 more goals than last year. That's a substantial jump to be sure, but I think we have a few things going for us.

two years ago, we actually scored more, at 259. I think we really under performed last year, especially on the PP. We actually scored 21 more PP goals in 2022-23 than in 2023-24 but 13 fewer ES goals

So, if we can maintain our ES production, or improve it slightly, while getting back on track on the PP, 20 goal improvement seems plausible.

As you point out, GA should be greatly improved by the addition of Ullmark, but I think switching from Chychrun to Jensen should make a difference there too, particular wrt the PK

A bunch of little changes that should net some positive results. Add in a healthy roster for a change. A proper training camp. No noise about the team sale, GM/Coach changes or that stuff. Just a plain old normal year. I feel...relaxed about this year. That could change next week, but I'll take it today.

Stu can cover them if he gets back to his 90 point form, fingers crossed
Ironically, he saw a 21 goal drop in his goals year over year, thanks at least in part I imagine from the wrist injury that was bugging him all year.
