2024/25 Oilers Prospect Thread

Anyone have any insight as to the delay in signing Maata and/or Munzenberger? Their season has been over for a while. Finishing classes? Oilers not going to sign them? At the very least you would think Bako would have signed them. I think both deserve a contract. Maata a leader and almost a point a game on a very low offensive team and Munzenbeger is well worth a look/see.
Well, when you look at the Condors, there is no prospect other than Savoie who is deemed as "Probable NHL" so I am sure the Oilers will want to take a close look at prospects and start taking the future more seriously. They must have more patience and professionalism.

It's not like we are flush with actual prospects down there. Hopefully we get both signed.

Hopefully a friendly call with Podz can sway him to come over. Podz Drai Bery could be a heavy line that not many teams could handle.

It’s really damming to see the depletion of the Oilers prospect pool in the last year. Yes some of these were on track to graduate but it’s a long list.

Holloway
Broberg
Lavioe
Bourgault
Chaisson
Tulio
Jarventie
Lachance
Wanner
Berglund

And add in Schaefer, Kesselring, 2023 1st, 2025 1st, 2026 1st as well out side if that time frame.
They did pick up Savoie, but he’ll graduate for sure by next season. And Fischer but they have yet to sign him and he could play two more NCAA seasons.

They really need to hit on O’Rielly, Akey, and Berezkin other wise there’s not too much hope for entry level contracts to help in the cup window.

Yes contenders trade picks, but this is very aggressively selling the future for Vets that are starting to show their age. Especially in the bottom six.

Yes the Knights only have a few drafted players on their roster at the best of times, but the Oilers don’t have Gary helping them out constantly. The Lehner contract termination was complete BS to allow them to accrue cap…

O'Reilly with the shorty and primary assist.

2G 2A so far tonight.

Day with a 38 shot shutout vs Kitchener. The Rangers peppered him big time in the first two periods and he made some big saves. He has had a very good series despite giving up 6 in Game 2. The Rangers are the much better team and this series has been closer than expected.

Guess Day doesn't want to go to Bako just yet. :sarcasm:
Probably a 30-some point difference in the regular season standings between Kitchener and Flint, but them Firebirds find some Daylight.

Connor Clattenburg with this assist in the game.

Dalyn Wakely collected another 2 assists in Game 3, making that 2 assists ever game this series. Beau Akey was held off the scoresheet tonight, but had an assist yesterday.

I watched a fair bit last night but listened to some of game 1 on the radio. The Ranger's PBP guy is a vet whose been doing their games for years. His comment: And of course Clattenburg doing what Clattenburg does...was actually a complement to his play. He has been a royal PITA for the Rangers the whole series.

This kid may just will himself into becoming a player at the pro level. One thing you know...he'll leave an impression.
