Connor Clattenburg with this assist. He collected 8 PIM last night and finds himself as the 3rd line LW tonight.

The other Matt Copponi assist

Dalyn Wakely announced his return to the lineup with what stood as the GWG in an 8-1 Barrie win. Beau Akey didn't get involved in the scoring.

Vermont Senior power! Nice to see Munzenberger get one with a seeing eye point shot. His calling call is the hard ice goal suppression work against elite players on better teams.

Maata with some bulldog to chase down and over power for the empty net cookie.

Vermont has been a disaster program. Good to see a snapshot of two Oil prospects contributing to their continual treading water.

On the other hand, London scores 8 goals and O'Rielly has zero points. Haven't watched any of him so maybe he passes the eye test but his numbers are very underwhelming.

The same thing was said about Mcleod, who also seemed close to NHL ready his first couple camps. He went back to junior in 2019 and put up middling numbers but it was clear he had NHL skills ready to use (in Mcleod's case, the speed stood out).

I think with a guy like Sam, numbers aren't as important as fine tuning the skills that will help him excel in the NHL.

It wouldn't be the first time in the NHL that the 7th rounder turns out to be better than the 1st rounder.

I think scouts projected O'Reilly as a 3rd line guy??- but that would be fine by me. At least 5 guys on the Oilers will be retired by the time O'Reilly is ready.

I think the thing to remember with O'Reilly is he's playing an extremely defensive role even though he's on the 1st line.

The Knights offense runs through Sam Dickinson who is pretty easily the best defenseman in the CHL and he's usually out there with the Knights 1st line. There's only so many touches to go around, so O'Reilly is usually the one defaulting to defense.

Nicholl is the guy running the offense on his line and they've had a lot of success off the rush. I wouldn't really say he's been better than O'Reilly. He's just playing a much different role.

This is sort of what I expected though I will confess I have not seen them play yet this year.
