How come nobody is talking about Maxim Berezkin? Kid looks legit in the KHL.
Every time I start to get a little excited I check out the roster and realize that Martin Gernat (former defenceman prospect) is only 5 points back.

He’s certainly tracking well but we won’t really know anything until he comes over and gets some experience in North America.

Gernat must be around 30 by now? Maybe he finally filled out too?

Why not? It's not like we have a ton of defensemen coming through the pipeline right now.
Who knows with new management. I want him signed but they might not see any reason to (considering they seem to be cutting ties with a lot of the old regimes guys).

Because our numb nut management aren't even in communication with him.
If we blow this, everyone in the front office should be gone. There is a chance that kid turns into another Panarin. I might be exaggerating but look at all the young prospects we gave up on and many turned into legit NHLers on other teams. Like how the hell did we lose Marino for nothing. A late pick who can play 18 minutes a night.

IMO this guy is a future NHLer. The only question is will he be 3rd or 4th line caliber?
Bit of a bold statement. A lot of these types get stuck in the Ahl working on defense or skating or acceleration etc. Grit gets him the opportunity though.

He is hard working, willing to pay the price and goes to the dirty areas while having some puck skill and being tough as nails. I really like his chances of being an Oiler down the line if he can stay healthy.

Hope ur right. But these guys are late round picks for one reason or another. How is his skating?

He seems to have a lot of grit, but does need to continuously improve his game year over year if he wants to make the show.
