If Vlad can and prefer to play 3rd base i'd say ideally you want Vlad at 3rd base and Alsonso at 1st and probably have Springer DH to let him focus on his bat. Then whoever wins the LF spot at camp gets it (Lukes, Straw, Clements, Loperfido, ...)
Because I told you the post that I was referring to was made by me around the non-tender deadline, not in December. And my selective use of "If" at the beginning obviously implies neutrality while I'm outlining a hypothetical scenario. Nice try grasping a straws there Eyedea.
He's basing it on:
Mets offered alonso 3 for 75. Why would he turn it down from them just to take it from the jays. This is boras trying to get the mets to blink.
Not sure why you got that sense. I was actually agreeing with your initial post and thought I was adding context to it. Guess you didn't see it that way when your response was to try and throw some random receipt in my face when I was laying out a hypothetical scenario. Not grasping at straws in the slightest but okay. My initial post today clearly got you defensive for whatever reason!
I literally said the bolded back in November. We seem to agree as we're pretty much saying the same thing here.I’m not here to argue who’s right or wrong, simply that BNS/Shi don’t offer any substance and often misreport (to allegedly aid Rogers in deals).
Varsho starting at CF I guess? With Santander in RF?
Always figured Varsho was locked in on the left, since apparently the Jays insist on never using him as a catcher.
He is a nobody but i will put this here
I will repeat, he is a nobody but it is a discussion board, so lets discuss;
Has 5.6k followers.
This guy posted another tweet saying he is not a reporter or insider. But is not backing down. Still says jays are signing scherzer and alonso
3year term sounds too good to believe. Would have to be for big bucks, you’d think, because the term is too team friendly.
Even at big dollars with opt outs….I’m down.
Not my money, and he still helps a ton.
Gives the team time to calibrate, and figure out the pieces moving forward.
The extensions are all linked together, which would make the next steps really interesting.
I think it’s a good lineup with him for sure, and gives the team a lil more leverage with extensions while buying prospects time. It’s a real good fit, and would be one more big bat than I thought was realistic.Do whatever you have to do to land Alonso. Lineup is set after that.
Probably no connection outside of he wants to play for a contender and without Alonso the Jays would likely not be that and with Alonson it would ne more realistic to expect the team to compete.I think it’s a good lineup with him for sure, and gives the team a lil more leverage with extensions while buying prospects time. One thing I don’t get out of these reports…is why is Sherzer tying himself to Alonso? What’s the connection?
Alonso and Scherzer played together for the Mets, so they could be friends. Bassit also played with both of them in 2022.Probably no connection outside of he wants to play for a contender and without Alonso the Jays would likely not be that and with Alonson it would ne more realistic to expect the team to compete.
Kinda weird.Probably no connection outside of he wants to play for a contender and without Alonso the Jays would likely not be that and with Alonson it would ne more realistic to expect the team to compete.

Lol, ya, just saw that…makes more sense now. Wanted to add the quote to my previous post, but didn’t know how lolI believe it was said they are very good friends.
Could happen! With any reliever, at any time!Tampa acquired brandon eisert from the jays for cash. Now watch him turn into jason adam
