Tieddemann is at #100

Martinez, Yesavage and Nimmala all made the 15 prospects who missed the 100 list in no particular order.

So the Jays have 4 prospects in the top top 115.

Bloss, Roden and Kasevich
all received votes as well for the 15 prospects who just missed.

So the Jays could reasonably have 7 prospects in on some of Baseball America Writer’s top 150 list.

Add in a decent IFA signing period and the 8th overall pick, the Jays should have an influx of some talent coming up the minors this year.
sounds like they have a decent farm system coming up. not as dire as some make it out to be.

I don't disagree.

Alonso likely re-signs with the Mets, IMO. However, he'd be a nice to have. I'm sure if he signed with the Jays it would be on a 5 or 6 year deal with a player option after year 2 or something like that.

Santander isn't a stellar defender. He's as capable as Teoscar though. If you can keep him in the field and give Alonso regular DH duties + coverage for Vladdy at 1B, I think that would be ideal.

The best move the Jays could make, IMO, would be to acquire a top-end 3B.
I'm not particularly sold on Profar - he's alternated between really solid and unplayably bad for pretty much his entire career, so it seems like a complete coin flip whether he'll be useful next year - but this is where I think he might make a lot of sense.

Given the uncertainty, I can see teams scoffing at going multiple years for him and him taking the best one-year deal he can get in hopes of repeating last year and getting a 3+ year deal next offseason. That would make a ton of sense for the Jays.

It’s not all bad.
Pitching side got hammered last year with injuries, sone of the big ifa’s have had mixed starts.
An influx of talent, guys getting healthy, and maybe a breakout or two are all feasible.
Could look a lot better before the year is out.

Any targets? Besides Bregman
The only other one that makes sense I don't love.

It's Arenado. He would need to waive to come here, but that may not be an issue as he's running out of places to go. If he sees that we're heading in the right direction he maybe could be persuaded.

The issue with it is he's at a declining age and is owed a lot of money. We'd need STL to retain + sweeten the deal and likely take back a contract like Bassitt for it to make any sense. My thought would be something centered around Helsley + Arenado.

I still think Alonso is the guy, put him at 1st and Vlad and 3rd which is where he wants to be. Alonso, Jimenez, Bo and Vlad isn't the worst as an infield. Rather have Gimenez at SS and Bo at 2nd but that ship has sailed

I think that only makes sense if you've already added another starter, and even then I'm not sold on trading Bassitt since the starting depth is already dicey (at least until some of the injured guys come back late in the season).

Replace Bassitt with Springer and it starts to make a bit more sense for the Jays.

I'd rather roll with Clement than bring in Arenado

I don't think that makes sense to a rebuilding team like the Cardinals though. Bassitt is only 1 year remaining.

My thought was that they would acquire two starters. We've been linked to Scherzer and there are other options who can bring roughly as much as Bassitt for less.

I'd rather bring in someone better than Clement and not declining like Arenado. I'm just trying to guess at what management will do.

Where are people seeing Will Wagner getting his AB’s?
He’s played 3B coming up, 2b and a lil first and has great con base skills.
Or maybe the best D alignment is Bo at 3rd, Gimene at SS and Will at second to get his bat in the lineup.

Rays #1, Red Sox #3, Bal #6, NYY #8, Jays #23

Not ideal.
That list is the post trade deadline, so it will shift a little, but not a lot.

Personally, I despise BA's list because it lists the top 100 with no real ability to compare where a Tiedemann fits to where others fit. Using a FV rating at least gives you tiers.

For now he's the DH. I personally wanted him as our starting 2B.

I'm still not opposed to trading Bo and sliding Gimenez over.

My hope is that Wagner gets some time at DH and regularly fills in for all the infielders when they have a day off/someone is hurt, with Gimenez sliding over to SS if Bo isn't there.

Heyman was on MLB Network and said if the Jays add a starter, he expects it to be Max Scherzer

I get why people are pissed because it isnt us and we lost many players to the Dodgers. But this is what every organization should strive to be. If this was us we would be laughing and thumbing our nose to the rest of the league.

If anyone doesnt like it then scout, draft, develop, trade, and acquire better players? Dodgers are getting them, then offer more money or make your team more attractive. Hard to feel sorry for other teams with billionaire owners.

A salary cap isnt the way either. It has ruined hockey and player movement.
Incredibly naive to think it's purely about money.

You should be in favour of abolishing the draft.

If he (WW) can play a passable third base, he and Clement can split, then get some starts filling in and a bunch at DH.

I still feel like Bo will end up on the move, with Gimenez sliding to short and Wagner/Jimenez handling second, and OMart pushing by mid season. It’ll depend on the market.

If Bo is actually interested in staying long term, 3B would be a great spot for him.

I guess another option would be Moncada to split time at third with Clement as a placeholder.

Actually a lot of options that could work out.
