Guerrero's trade value is at his highest right compared to the deadline but I'd hope Bo rebounds from his disastrous 2024 to up his value for a midseason deal.

Of course if that Atlanta offer for Bo is true they gotta JUMP on that kind of package asap. He's GONE next year
What’s the Bo rumor?

Gotta love a guy named Nacho. Top of the order bat.
I’ve been pretty sure Bo’d get moved this off-season, assuming he doesn’t really want to extend.
I’m not great at baseball trade values, but Bo and Vladdy are the two who could legitimately demand multiple good pieces coming back.

No sign of a pivot uey this off-season, and last off season was a disaster.
I’m on the fence interpreting this.
So far, they’ve mostly avoided bad contracts (with the exception of Springers sixth year) and haven’t caved to any crazy term/aav this year. So, that’s good.
On the other hand, they need to add some bats….reports are in on everyone, but haven’t closed anything.

Dodgers traded for pool space after Sasaki signed. Jays could have done the same thing. Atkins getting bent over twice by his old pal this off-season.
The only explanation that makes sense is that he’s working for them. He might be the worst manager I’ve ever seen in all of sports.

I have no idea what the problem was. Players not interested in coming here? An unwillingness to step outside of their valuations? A weird confidence in the players they currently have? It's probably a lot of factors, but all I actually know is that they've failed to this point, and that sucks.

The problem I have with your analysis is that it's 100% just made up in your head. Like... there's absolutely zero evidence that the Jays just sat around waiting on Soto and didn't do anything while they waited, or that the Yankees laid tons of groundwork to be able to move on. Knowing the Jays MO of being interested in everyone, the most likely scenario is that they did lay tons of groundwork all g the way and have just failed to close deals.

The Jays being runner up to others has become a meme the last two years. If they weren't prepared to move on to their next target, they wouldn't be one of the finalists for every player who signs.

If you have no idea what the problem was, where is your confidence coming from in saying that the issue isn't that they're spending their time and resourcing pursuing players they obviously have no realistic shot at?

When you focus on the wrong guys it's not surprising when you're a runner up for the guys you should have been focused on in the first place.

The evidence that the Yankees were laying groundwork is the fact that they got all of those deals done, and quickly.

Possibly some interest in Scherzer? I wouldn't mind that

Deals come together quickly all the time. Deals are in the works for months only to fall apart all the time. Whether a deal does or doesn't happen doesn't tell you anything about how long they were working on it.

I'm not saying we know that wasn't the problem. I'm saying you have absolutely zero evidence to suggest it was, especially considering how many players were available well after they missed on the superstars.

To me, the problem is that they haven't added good enough players. I'm not trying to guess why, and I don't particularly care. They have to get shit down and they haven't done it for two years now.

Probably didnt want to cancel his dinner reservations to an all you can eat buffet.
Pretty sure he'll start putting on the pounds again roughly year 3 into his 12 year contract. I get we all want to see the team re-sign him he's gonna get fat again and soon
