I'm upset that Teoscar Hernandez signed with the Dodgers again, why couldn't the Blue Jays use some of that Soto money to sign Teo?
Why would anyone sign with the Jays over the Dodgers? He just won the World Series with them. Their team will be great for the duration of his contract. Meanwhile, the Jays have come off their worst season in the last few years and could potentially begin a retool or rebuild.

And Hernandez could be part of the retool to make the Bluejays a playoff contender.

this idea that free-agents are turning down the Blue Jays works both ways. The Blue Jays are also turning down the free-agents asking price.

Bridesmaids again. I wasn't expecting Teo to realistically come back but at this point it's starting to look like Gimenez was the only move, much to mine and many others fears.

While I didn't want Burnes really, it's not a great look they whiff on another big name. This place is going to go nuclear if they swing and miss on Santander too. And rightfully so.

Useless ass front office. Going to hurt even more when they lose Vlad and Bo because of these dipshits.

Don’t worry, front office will tell PR to post something from 92 and 93 about the good old years of glory.

Tone def management, this team is such in a bind.

Santander is still be best bat feee agent after Soto to my eyes.
By that I mean likelihood over multiple years of the contracts duration.
My ideal off-season included an ace and a bat via free agency so obviously I’m underwhelmed….but Santander plus Pivetta/Flaherty still works. Then my ideal hope was trading both Bassitt and Bo for whatever best packages were possible.
So, like in dumb and dumber….there’s still a chance.
Faint and all….but I like feeling hope.

At this point we should just tear down and rebuild but if we were going to do that I guess they would have brought in a new front office.

Exactly and if Atkins suggest we tear it down, he is the first to go. So in a self-serving manner Atkins will sign some over the hill dude(s) to contract(s) that will be stupid.

Possibly the worse two consecutive years, in Jays history, in terms of roster building.

I get the sense Atkins is spending his energy in trades as quality UFA's clearly no longer want to come to Toronto. There will be at least two more trades before Feb.

Atkins and Shapiro are f***ing trash.

How do these morons not understand that ufas won't come if our premier player isn't signed.

Like good lord you idiots. How do you manage to fail upwards because that's a skill certainly don't have and would love to learn from these two buffoons.

Dawg the Jays offered more than zona lmao.

No one wants to sign here when your management can't build around prime Vlad and bo, trades away Teo for an RP and can't develop prospects.

I doubt Rogers wants to trade Vlad or Bo, as ticket sales will crater. Expect a bandaid attempt to compete, with the chance to become sellers at the deadline if the Jays are truly out of it.

Big risk right now that our top stars walk for nothing and we enter a decade of darkness.

It's hopeless with this front office. The Gimenez trade tells me all I need to know about Atkins and Shapiro. They think getting Gimenez and "internal improvements" is enough to be much better. People better just stay home if there are no more major adds.

Santander makes the most sense out of the bats available and would make the biggest difference. I don't think Alonso will sign with the Jays and he's a 1B. I also don't think Bregman would sign either. Bregman's bat has also declined in the last three seasons.

I also hope they don't trade a bunch of young guys if they can't do it through free agency.

I don't want to sign Santander because I think that contract will be awful but at this point I'm not sure it even matters. Management will be forced into the inevitable rebuild eventually so having a bad 25 million on the books from Santander won't matter.

At least when the current duo were in charge of the Indians....it looked like they were trying. Here they just look like they are willfully and gleefully destroying the team. The organization is in much worse shape than when they were hired.
