Gotta be either or

This team isn’t 1 signing away from being competitive. They need multiple huge adds.

If you can’t sign multiple adds then you have to trade your assets and start over.

f***ing being mid again and again

Vlad isn't signing here management f***ed that up.
They don't seem to have a read on the market.

Give option 1 another week and if doesn’t happen, move to Option 2, which I assume includes trading the pitchers. Might want to trade them now in case they have a crappy season and get nothing in return.

I've said this before, if we go with Option 2, do you trust this clown ass management to run the rebuild? They're the incompetent, arrogant, moronic group that put the Jays in this position.

I agree with the general idea of this although if they swing and miss on Burnes and Santander there are other paths like Teo + Sasaki or Teo + DH bat + Pivetta or trade for a starter.

If we do a rebuild I’d still try to hold on to Vlad. If Vlad wants out they need to get a big haul. Not sure I trust Atkins to handle that.

If the Jays can sign Teo or Santander and don’t mind playing them in the field, I wouldn’t mind picking up Winker, Goldschmidt, or J.D. Martinez as a lower-cost DH. A guy like J.D. might be a decent buy-low bet for under 10-12 m and he may have enough in the tank for one more good year. Knowing that he’s not the “main” piece makes that type of gamble more attractive.

1. Gimenez
2. Bichette
3. Vlad Jr.
4. Hernandez
5. J.D Martinez
6. Kirk
7. Varsho
8. Clement
9. Springer/Roden

To-do list for Shatkins
Step 1:
Remove heads from butts.
Step 2: Resign Vlad.
Step 3: Trade Bo + Bassitt. Retool.
Step 4: Compete in 2 years.

$60M/3 years?

Like they didn’t learn with the Abreu deal.

I assume Walker at 1B and Paredes to 3B. Taking them out of the Arenado discussions?
Sounds like Arenado already did that himself.

He was nowhere near my top choice, but Walker is one of the first bats to come off the board that I would have been happy with the Jays getting.
