we are gna do this thing where we get a few players that are gna be shite at batting but shatkins believe can make them into good hitters despite having a horrible track record of batting development the past two years.

I think santander would be a ridiculous mistake. The only bat that truly interests me is alonso.

All the available hitters have flaws, but I'm curious what you feel makes Santander so bad. He's been a consistently very good hitter over the last three years.

How can he be worse than Belt or Turner, which was their "solution" the last couple years.

Yeah obviously he will cost more, but will no doubt be better.

Well i just think to get him we would need to offer 5 years. I think the last two years will be absolutely brutal if not the last 3.

Santander at 3-4 is an easy yes.

I’m curious about this, as many seem to share the sentiment. However nobody seems to have an issue with giving Teo 3 years.

I love Teo and would be thrilled to add him, but I think Santander is the better fit. He’s 2 years younger, and a switch hitter. Both are adventures in the OF, granted Teo has better foot speed.

I’m good adding either, but I think Santander is fits better as a protection behind Vladdy.

Yeah I think I would prefer Teo because he's Teo. But setting that's connection aside, I might pick Santander.

If I'm breaking the bank is like to do it on the best hitter available

At this point, as a Jays fan I think the best we can hope for is that no moves are made other than the firing of shatkins. I do not want them damaging the team any further. No long term deals done by them, get them out of here already.

Comparing an apple to an orange.
If your general point is that impressive prospects don’t always translate, that’s fair.
It's more about comparing an apple to an apple actually, power for power, not power to contact, but think what you want. Funny how even if I acknowledge his stats that's still not good enough for you, but the other comment gets under your skin.

The point was though Atkins doesn't like power bats, so don't get to excited about having him chances are Atkins will find a way to move him as well, as long as that clown Atkins is here.

But... Horwitz and Roden are both primarily contact hitters whose offensive upside is limited by mediocre power.

So Jays in Buffalo Triple A have zero power hitters then? Even since Horwitz and Roden had the highest OPS out of everyone last season in Triple A....

Horwitz OPS .970
Roden OPS . 916

Limited gotcha.

I'll add SLG as well top 3.

Martinez SLG .523
Horwitz SLG .514
Roden SLG .510
