trade George Springer's contract for a pair of overpaid relievers who are still really good. Send the other team prospects you don't care about if necessary. Solves most of the bullpen issues essentially for free.

Whose giving us two really good relievers for a really bad RF? When I say bad RF I say as in bad hitter he's still a good defensive outfielder.

There was no way Shatkins was going to pay Soto 700 million when they won’t pay their own guy 300 million. This BS talk about the Jays being a dark horse was a media/leverage play by Boras. We were never in this lol
How do you know if they are or not?

whoever has a pair of overpaid relievers they don't care about. And would be just as fine overpaying an outfielder instead if he comes with some prospects. Odds are there is a good fit out there somewhere that doesn't cost much at all in the way of prospects.

Short of taking on Taijuan Walker, there are no relievers that come close to what you think this will do.

As of today, Chad Green has the 9th highest reliever salary for 2025 and there's nobody in the top 20 that would actually be a positive for our BP (Walker was in the bullpen because he was pitching so poorly).

well then you ruined my strategy and the Jays are going to miss the playoffs again. Hope you are happy with yourself.

I am not trying to ruin your strategy. I despise the payroll situation but have accepted Springer as a sunk cost.

There are ways to fix the team, but having a management group that sucks with money and negotiating makes that harder.

It's a great strategy but you have to have a willing dance partner and I and others just don't believe there is one out there. You find one by all means suggest it. Cheers

hold on the strategy is still alive. Trade for 1 bad bullpen contract like Chad Green and 1 bad starter contract.

Name one team?

It would be wonderful for the Jays but it’s completely far fetched.
