The bullpen looks better with Hoffman in it, but adding a Coulombe, Chafin, or Raley would be a nice top off (or Scott if they want to swing from the ankles).

Crazy. Down to us and Dodgers. I do like our chances tbh considering he said he wants to headline a rotation, American media, etc.

If Jays land Sasaki, makes it a hell of a lot easier to have a serious chat with Alonso, Santander, Vladdy, Bregman. If we can land Sasaki, sign Vladdy, and pick up one of those 3 bats.. best team we’ve had in a while.

At least this one is legitimate and can't be twisted into a "He was just using us as leverage" thing.
Also can’t fault Sharon’s. They’re going all in trying to sign these guys and finishing second, (not saying this is the case here yet, just seems unlikely he doesn’t go to team Japan over there in LA)

it could be all lies but with everything that has been reported about Sasaki, I think I would prefer being in the final 2 against the dodgers over the padres.

If rumors are true that he wants to be on his own and not surrounded by a lot of star talent, then look no further than us, Roki!

If it was the Dodgers, he would have signed already. I think he really does like us a lot!

We'll take care of ya!

Wonder how long the final decision will take, memes aside, now that he's down to a final 2?
I would assume it could come pretty quickly at this point. I doubt he's just narrowing it down one at a time - if the Padres are out, I think it's likely because he's made a decision rather than he's just ruled them out.

Although... I guess it's possible he's trying to decide between Canada and California and has just decided the Dodgers are his California team.

Ugh. I really just want to know.

There was a Japanese newspaper that said that he was expected to decide today.

he’s close to deal with the Dodgers!

There you go! Predictable!
Friendly reminder...

it is impossible for him to be close to a deal with the Dodgers lol

He's picked one way or the other and it's just a matter of time before it gets out. The tweet you are referencing is a garbage tweet (from someone who should know better).

The second tweet is the one referenced above. Given that Toronto can a) offer more and b) the final factor won't be money, the tweet is crap. On top of that, the hedge in the second part tells us that the guy is just making stuff up.

It is entirely possible that he signs with LA, but that tweet isn't confirmation (or quality).

Does this guy want the smoke or not? That’s the question. IF he comes here, he will be one of the faces of the franchise. In LA he is behind lots of other guys. Does he prefer to lay low, or he wants the spotlight?

I think he wants to lay low, which actually helps Toronto even though he'd probably be the best or second best player
Sounds like he wants to straddle the line.

Be the man on the field, be left alone when off it.

I respect the guy either way, sounds like he walks to the beat of his own drum.

One thing that I find funny is that if LA brought their stars to meet him, they largely brought hitters.

The Jays would have brought Walker and potentially guys like Gausman and Swanson.
