I really don't understand why Redick, who seems like an intelligent guy, took the Lakers job. What did he think was going to happen?

The honeymoon is over, the Lakers fans thought he might work out because of his assistant coaches but that roster is old and frail with the exception of knectt who I watched in college and was enamored with

Fact of the matter is Lebron is nearing his 40's and playing like it. Of course he is going to look like Tyson out there lol. Even Aaron Rodgers can't play at 40.

Brady struggled too and he played until he was freaking 45

Might be time for LeBron to hang it up soon.

I guess. But he had a pretty good gig at ESPN. Why give that up to take a job where you know sooner or later you're going to get canned?
Seriously though. Have your heard the guy speak? He talks like he evented the sport of basketball. His massive ego played into him taking the job. Plus hes a first time head coach. Teams weren't going to be fighting over him. He had to go to the opportunity that was available

He was LeBron's friend and this was all LeBron's plan to make the lakers "his" team.

Like I don't want to disparage him but he's done some very dirty shit in LA including trying to build a contender that frequently falls short of expectations. Now he hires his own friend as coach.

Stick to playing ball and less of the front office stuff.

the lakers struggles aren't any surprise. what did they expect when you're having to rely on the oldest player in the league who spent his summer playing in the olympics to carry you every night? AD started out great, but he's been shit lately and isn't a guy to carry a team on his back anyways

i'm grateful that lebron signed with the lakers and rescued the franchise from the hell they were in, but the sooner he retires the better. they need to tear it all down and start the rebuild

Lakers job probably pays more, so even when he does get fired, hell still come out ahead financially. Besides, if he doesn't enjoy coaching he can just go back to ESPN or possibly NBC.
