Despite being in a non-contact jersey, Mesar was practicing on the top line with Dauphin and Roy.

However, it was also revealed that ABB is out due to personal reasons and Arseneau wasn't practicing due to illness. Under normal circumstances, ABB would be up there with Roy and Dauphin.

Apparently Laval Radio announcers said yesterday Mailloux will be called up by Habs just before or after Xmas - HuGo have thrown in the towel on Barron von Dipshit

Mentioned by Mitch Melnick on McGuire radio stint

Who are JP O'Connor and Jon Goyens?

How are they supposed to be credible via the Habs brass intentions? It felt a lot more like wishful thinking and speculation to me.

Mailloux started red hot (like many on the team) but to call him dominating is a stretch.

If they get rid of Barron to call up Mailloux, I hope they're shopping for a top4 RD for when they trade Savard.

They are the English language broadcast team for Laval.

Goyens is the former longtime Lac St-Louis AAA head coach (Matheson, Drouin, Duclair, Kilorn, Levi etc) all played for him

O’Connor is a former AHLer, who was coached by Nilan, who then brought him into radio during his TSN days

My question was more centered about their connection and if they ever brought any scoops.

The hockey part I've already seen via EP.

They just seem random to have such high level information. I'd expect a guy like Marcotte (if any) to know about that (not that he would tell, especially this early).

Is this some kind of joke?
Mailloux dominating in Laval.

Logan Mailloux has a big problem when he's letting more people get behind/around him per game than he has points recently.
12 points in his first 9 games and 2 points in his last 10 games.
There is absolutely nothing in his game right now that is NHL worthy.

Call ups and injuries contributed but a lot of guys quieted down during this time.

I have to agree. He actually reminds me a bit of Barron to be honest. I think he needs another season in Laval in my opinion. His offence has dried up, his defence isn’t great and his decision making is still pretty bad. If anything, I think they could trade him for the right return.

The guys who should be dominating down there certainly have not been. Mailloux, ABB, Roy. Kidney and Farrel not producing. No wonder they’re losing.

After his 4 point game there were the usual “call him up” posters thinking he was too good for Laval. lol!

No Friday night game, so weird.

Yeah, only the 2nd time this year.

We also had 4 straight weeks of W,F,Sat games so the change is weird.

Next time that kind of stretch happen is 3 times in March.

Just noticed, February 16th-22nd is going to be insane with 5 games in 7 days in 4 different cities (Rochester, Toronto, Laval x2, Syracuse).

Does this coincide with his call up? I’m pretty sure it did.

DO NOT CALL UP MAILMAN

I'm a huge fan of X and Mailman but I'm not drunk. I watched Mailman like a hawk in his last game and I have to say, he looks like he just came out of the OHL. I reran his "decisions" on slow motion so many time to see if I'm missing something and nope, he blundered.

HORRIBLE. TERRIBLE...with a side of WHAT THE **** ARE YOU THINKING??

I'm having a hard understanding how he can make so many fundamental mistakes. Two of the 3 goals were on his head and the rest of the way was AHL no 6 material.

MAYBE....they want to give him the X treatment and work on him one-on-one like they did with X. I can buy that because frankly, the Habs suck and it would make no difference if he pulled the AHL blunders. On the other hand if he improves as much as X, we got two very young defenseman out of a toilet flush worthy season.

I can't emphasize how huge it will be to have those two move into the top 4.

There is no way Hughes can't see what is happening with Mailman. None. So this call up will be fascinating...if it happens.

Calling up Mailloux now would be a regressive move as he’ll be exposed by NHL level skaters which will undermine both his confidence and market value. Somehow his play has convinced some observers that he’s dominating the AHL. Maybe someone on another team who is actually in a position of authority will be drinking the same Kool Aid and will overpay for this dominating player.

Other then his parents, there is no fan that wants M to succed more then me...but i need a lobotomy to call his play AHL acceptable, never mind NHL.

He's making fatal fundamental mistakes like zero chance pinching for a lose puck and failing to cover his net. Why? Is he getting the proper coaching or is he hopeless? Is there one on one coaching available? Not that i think that he can't review what he did to improve.

I know that Komisarek was never able to learn the fundamentals of gap control and go-no-go zone play. When he played with Markov, he was functional, nothing more, but as soon as he left for Toronto, his flaws were on full display.

I don't believe M is gap mouth stupid, he's simply not processing at the instinctive level he should be. If that is missing, then it has to be lesrned through instruction and repetition.

A forward skating into a 30 ft gap will get there FAR faster then him stopping, turning and getting back to close it, so best not to open it up to begin with. That's were coaching takes over if M can't see the flaw in his thinking.

Maybe Vincent isn't coaching him at the level he needs. Maybe bringing him up they have more resources at the big club level. Maybe our coaches are paper airplane rocket scientist. Maybe nobody cares.

I don't know....
