Things are obviously going absolutely great for Laval. But the even more positive in all of this are the prospects looking real good throughout this season so far.

The current pace they're on:

- Logan Mailloux on pace for 115 pts (38G, 77A) in 67 GP
- Joshua Roy on pace for 78 pts (42G, 36A) in 72 GP
- Owen Beck on pace for 66 pts (18G, 48A) in in 72 GP
- Jared Davidson on pace for 46 pts (31G, 15A) in 69 GP
- Luke Tuch on pace for 36 pts (24G, 12A) in 72 GP
- Adam Engstrom on pace for 30 pts (6G, 24A) in 72 GP

and Filip Mesar was a PPG player before he went down with an injury.

It doesn't mean they will keep up this pace. But they've played 12 games so far, and these prospects have been consistent with their production.

This team + Mes and Rein would be such a f***ing squad

Mailloux is such an underrated prospect by our fans.
I just hope that he is not the type of player who is too good for the AHL and not enough for the NHL. Barré Boulet, Hudon, and many others are like that.

undersized players that lack speed or skating or strength or all the above will likely always struggle from the jump up from AHL to NHL. Mailloux is more will he be another MAB or can he figure it out and be a Brent Burns type. He's got a number of NHL tools but the IQ is a legit concern.

I do not believe he is underrated by the fans, more like overrated. The Habs brass obviously know he is skilled but need to see him become more consistent in his defensive "habits". NHL players would take full advantage of those miscues. The Canadiens are not contenders yet and having their prospects mature their "game" in the AHL is the smart move. So glad there is a winning attitude developing with the Rocket. So far, Pascal Vincent seems to be doing a good job!

Is there a reason we go from Rochester to Syracuse and then back to Rochester?
I noticed the Americans aren't playing tonight.
I think I'd rather play them tonight and then Syracuse tomorrow.

Might be an arena availability thing. The AHL is always looking to keep travel costs at the absolute minimum, so there has to be a solid reason.

Mailloux lacks the skating ability to effectively transport the puck from the defensive zone, through the neutral zone and into the offensive zone at the AHL level. To expect him, at this stage, to be able to do it in the NHL, is not merely a case of overrating Mailloux’s ability, but more a case of wishful thinking.
