Beniers is enabling scoring, but isn’t contributing directly. I’m sure he wants to shake the pack of scoring but his co tribution is impactful.

As for Evans, yes, he’s done very well and looks like an NHL player out there. I think he ends up being a guy who floats around to more ice time as injuries happen, but I’m not sure that he’s going to get it when everybody is healthy. It’s a good problem for the Kraken to have
Still think Beniers has never been the same since that concussion hit from Myers, at least goal scoring wise

Well .. we are wondering the same so not sure if we can answer that question. My guess is Gru having some really bad starts in a row OR that changing if we are in the playoff bubble sometime later this season.

This team cannot really afford to lose games given they are far from guaranteed to make the playoffs. And Daccord does give us the best chance to win.

How is gru suppose to win games for seattle if the offense isn't showing up...

Kartye seems to be glued into that 4th line LW spot. How's he been looking and is there a hope for him to be more of a scorer down the line?

He scored a couple of games ago. I feel like he is who he is now. A guy that chips in with the odd goal rather than the guy in his rookie year that was scoring a ton

He’s doing great in his role. I’d be surprised if he ended up being a scorer, but I think he’s probably the guy that gets opportunities when other players are injured.

The same way Daccord is. He needs to find a way. Maybe have a good enough SV% like what Daccord does. He is not getting a pass from me anymore. That goodwill had run out.
Daccord has a save % of 907 and Grubauer has 881. For the same amount of shots against, the difference is 2.5 goals or 2.5 more saves by Daccord. Not a lot of absolute saves but that 1 extra save against St Louis and Colorado could have given us a point in those games. Could but maybe not either.

Gru has never ended a season with the Kraken at 0.9SV% or above.

Mahura seems to be quietly demonstrating he could be a serviceable 3rd pairing D? I wonder if that’s why Fleury quietly came up and then went right back down? Wish that meant Francis was exploring trade opportunities on someone like Oleksiak but I think that’s a fantasy universe.

I think fleury came up for the away game only as the logistics of moving him were a bit more challenging. They could do it much more quickly for a home game so sent him down and reset the 30 days.

I’m amazed at how mediocre this squad and our farm is. Total blank slate and this is what Francis and ownership do on their first couple years?

Waited 30 years for this team, and it’s botched right out the gate. Sad.

Also Bura is so soft

Farm wise who would you have drafted different? Coachella has been decent

Between the Husky and Seahawks ass kicking and the Krakens last loss i'm very ready for the Kraken to win tomorrow. Tired of losing.
I think they heard you.

On another note it's a relief so see Evans contributing, and looking comfortable even as a rookie. He'll be a big part of this team going forward.

Needed it. Even the Sounders win on Monday was super frustrating.

Tonight's game was just the perfect tonic.

Agreed on Evans, losing dunn hasn't been a total disaster yet.

I would like to see wright get some points soon though or a goal

It’s hard not to feel like the market for a guy like Oleksiak couldn’t be much higher than it is right now.

OK so we've got Dunn out for another 12 days or so, and now Montour is presumably on family leave for at least a couple days...whose the next man up from CV to be the 7th? A kid like Ottavainen or Nelson or an AHL journeyman like Lajoie or Olofsson?

They've started out this season pretty much exactly how I was afraid they'd start...

- They look like world-beaters against similar "bubble" opposition, like Minnesota, Philly, or Nashville.

- They get absolutely caved by "contenders", like Dallas, Carolina and Toronto.

So far they dont look remotely close to taking that next step to joining those teams on that next rung. They're going to sit in this grey fuzzy limbo for yet another season, I'm afraid.

Yeah, "grey fuzzy limbo" sums it up pretty damn good.

Given Francis cap management "I'm afraid" it will be more than just this season.

I don't think we can say they look "middling" after the last 8 periods of play have been factored in. It's just plain bad.

As much as we needed to move on from Hak, the idea that it would lead to improvements in the standings I thought was not correct. Last year's team did not underperform, at least not until late in the year when they quit on him.

The roster just isn't that good.

It's not fun to watch most nights. At the same time I'll take a little solace that we might see some more realism emerge on where the team is at. Maybe we'll get a more long term focus and that will help set up the club better for success a few years down the road. I think the middling path might finally have collapsed.
