So made of glass Cernak out for how long this time...at least Cirelli has a chance to play, even if slim, so maybe his injury isn't too bad.

Cernak has played every game this season and averaged 70 games per year the last 2 years, weird time to give him grief. It's early and meaningless in the season. Expect McDonagh to miss a couple games too given their workload and playstyle.

It may be early, but far from meaningless. I hear all the time how early games are "meaningless" or "don't matter much" across all sports, then at the end of a season when a team loses a division or a better playoff spot, or even a playoff spot at all, by a game or two, it's always ghe same story.

Your son Anthony is also injured during this critical time in the season

Aw, you had nothing to actually counter with so the boring usual drivel emerges.. Moving on. Oh, and Cernak is also often injured, missing an average of between 15 and 16 games per year lookinv at the last 4 regular seasons, so him missing around 20% of a regular season isn't inconsequential.

Fair point to call Cernak oft injured.

He's not "made of glass", which implies that he is fragile. Guy plays a heavy, demanding play style which is going to come with residual effects like injuries. Every winning team needs someone like that though.

If Moser is lost for the season, there is zero chance the defense is deep enough for a serious run. If that's the case,.JBB should make a move soon.

Means he'll miss a minimum of three games, I wouldn't have any dire concerns just yet considering Cooper didn't originally straight rule him out for tonight. Really need some answers though

I politely disagree as much as possible here if its a few weeks. We have sacrificed an entire team worth of forwards (12 to my count) in the last 3 or so years so we can keep spoiling the defense. Enough is enough. Cernak, McDonagh and Hedman need to figure it the hell out for a few weeks

Even if it was for the season I don't think its worth it. We finally got this team scoring again and I don't want to risk breaking it

I wouldn't trade a F off the team to improve the defense, but if it was worst case scenario with Moser (which I don't think it is or they likely would've ltir'd him by now), then I still believe another quality dman would be needed. As it is, if Moser is is only out a few games or even a fee weeks, I still would like to see the team possibly add a depth dman closer to the deadline, as well as a middle 6 F, to give them the best possible chance at a deep Cup run this season.

The median for NHL defense right now is $27,493,512 and we are allocating $26,170,000 so it's not like we are overspending on D. Assuming we don't have to put anyone on LTIR and Carlile is called up for roughly 2 weeks while Moser is out then we would have accrued between 4.3-4.5 mil in capspace by the TDL. We could also trade Sheary and gain an additional $850k so its not like we have to subtract on offense to add on D, we could probably add to both. They shouldn't make any trades until after the CBA discussions in February but depending on how those negotiations go and if the defense is still playing like this they need to add at least one more defenseman. I also don't think the top 4 is the problem, I think it is mainly Lilleberg.
GA per 60:
Lilleberg 3.2
Raddysh 2.6
Perbix 2.5
Moser 2.4
Cernak 2.0
Hedman 1.9
McDonagh 1.9
