due to travel..as soon as the trade goes through, I will presetting my team for the rest of the year

FYI--this is the first year where we are not allowed to keep rookies after the trade deadline and use them as keepers this fall

Why does God hate my team, bros? I apologize for not being as active this season. I thought I had a good team at the beginning of the year but watching them crash into the pooper has been sad. Anyway, still check in at least once a week, open to all trades.

Also the Canucks have been god forsaken for almost ten straight years, with the exact same stupid script playing out every season.

Not to rub it in...but I did say that by Christmas you'd be "Balls Deep for Bedard"...but the up side of this is....you're Balls Deep for Bedard right now. lol

The rule only applies to free agent rookies signed after the deadline.
If the rookie is already available now...
He can be picked up and kept even after the deadline.
It is put in to avoid high draft picks who are suddenly available late in the season...
Like Power...
Sanderson...
And Beniers.

I was surprised by no activities.
I thought people would make at least a minor trade or two.

There might just be too many sellers.
I might have ruined trade deadline...
When I sold long ago.

Just to clarify, this is not correct. It applies to all rookies:
Any rookie meeting the above definition and added after the Yahoo Keeper League deadline will be ineligible to be kept as a keeper in the following off-season (of any type, e.g. neither a regular keeper nor a rookie keeper).

The "above definition" is just our general rookie definition.

I had some back and forth with CRD on this to make sure I captured what we thought was league intent correctly. In the future, we will try to include the exact wording change as part of the vote. That said, if you're proposing a rule change, I suggest you propose exact wording so I'm not left to interpret it. :)

My proposal was merely for rookie free agents last year.
We already discussed it last summer...
So I do not want to go through it again.
Clearly I have misunderstood the language...
And I would like some clarification.
Right now...
Is it for all rookies that cannot be picked up and kept after the deadline?
At the moment...
I am probably fine with this interpretation...
And it will not affect my keeper list...
But it is probably good for me to understand it now...
Before I make any mistakes.

Also...
Why do I feel like I need a lawyer for any future league changes?
Some of the languages in the CBA is very complicated to me...
And I continue to misunderstand.
I have mistaken CRD's proposal to change the waiver order last year...
And I did not get the keepers rules for a long time.
I asked a lot of questions too...
But I still got things wrong in 2019...
3 years into this league.

You need to have good legal representation to be in this league. lol...I still may sue over being cheated out of my Championship title...still weighing my legal options.

The CBA is lawyer speak.
I honestly feel stupid when I try to understand some of the clauses.
At times it reads like Latin to me.

I have to ask a lot of questions next time when there are any rule changes...
Or ask for layman's terms.
Clearly I do not understand anything.

You and me both.

Also agree with nameless, not a fan of alot of the rule changes and dont think its helping the activity

I am fine with the rule changes...
But it was just different from my understanding.
I really have to ask for layman's term next time.
