Oh damn, yeah. That would definitely do itRight the only thing worse than losing to them, is losing in the SCF to the Leafs.

Miro was hurt anyway. Getting Rantanen in his prime easily softens the blow of a first round exit this year for me. Especially with how Rantanen has played over the 20 games he’s been here.
Im already burnt out on stressing about playoffs. Im just here to have fun. Losing one of them best defensemen in the league is going to be a killer to your team no matter what. Any wins we get are going to be impressive and if we somehow pull off a series without Miro then thats a statement.
chin up lads
What d do you think is available, and why would that team want a lw for them?SJ is ecstatic - we gave away #23 in the draft for no reason if the GM threw in the towel when Miro went down
So losing your best F and another top 6 (granlund) after getting eliminated in round 1 somehow puts us in a better position next year?
I guess Miro, Lindell, and Harley are the 3 most important players on the team. I can see a Robo for Dman trade next year to bolster the D; why pay Robo $12m(like Rantanen) when a single D injury derails a season
Should we have a series thread going?
Also:
The before practice time is when players coming back from injury get their ice time. All it means is they are skating. What does them being on ice before practice mean?
at least he can make a breakout passNils gonna save us
Confirmed: Mavs, Stars headed for split over differing arena priorities after 32 years as roommates

As the Mavericks pursue a basketball-only arena instead of American Airlines Center, where does that leave the Dallas Stars?www.dallasnews.com
Sounds like Stars will relocate out of Dallas.
Would be dumb as shit to do that for both the Stars and the City of Dallas.
The Stars should do some renos this year/next and get the Mavs to pay half.. then in 2031 they can front up for some more improvements on their own dime which would last them another say 10 years.. then maybe look to another barn.
Yeah, I guess I just don't see the need for a new barn, tbh. The AAC's location is perfect because they built transit and everything around it. If anything, I'd prefer it be like a temporary relocation for a season or two if they wanna heavily renovate the arena or something, but I dunno where the f*** they'd be able to go.
I haven't lived in Dallas in like 15 years and haven't been to a Stars game in that time, so if they do move, it won't affect me either way, lol.
It was built in 2001, so the lease ending in 2031 is 30 year old building. If they do some more renos then you are pushing to a 40 year old building. At that point it's time to build something new.
But I agree they should keep it downtown, they really built up that area nicely.
8th newest arena in the nhl !!I forgot it was built in '01.
The fair park area is a terrible spot. One of the worst areas around dallas. Crime is really bad. They are in the best spot possible. Hopefully they just remodel and stayMsg has been open since the 70s, it's actually just fine to renovate and stay at the same location unless there are more serious issues like the crumbling concrete at Calgary's arena. The reality is that location matters a lot. Moving arenas outside of urban cores, especially w hockey, is a complete disaster. Look at Ottawa and Phoenix as examples of teams that did it. The only viable locations to relocate in Dallas would have to be around the urban core. Locations like fair park, near reunion tower and the convention center, and maybe near 45 after they bury the highway.
Only the current location and the one near reunion tower would keep a similar level of transit connectivity (both tre and the red line). But planners have to work around the boundaries of the proposed hsr siding and all the interchanges around 35e for parking and secondary commercial space. Which sounds nightmarish.
Fair park is prob easier for planners bc there is way more space to work with but you lose connectivity with the western half of the metroplex. Having to go through the entire downtown highway mess if you live west of the tollway is not ideal. Also you now have to transfer onto the green line from the tre, red, blue or orange lines.
Arlington and Frisco are just brain dead options because you lose urban density and transit links completely.
Also It might seem I'm focusing too much on transit, but less transit links means more parking lots. Less comercial density around the arena. Less residential density means the surrounding area is much more reliant on the arena draw to make business viable.
